Abstract: The Institute for Sustainable Technologies – NRI in Radom, together with Silesian University in Gliwice, have developed a group of mobile robots [1] intended for support of rescue actions. The group consists of two big robots: Explorer for exploring the environment and Transporter for transporting the number of small robots – Pathfinder (Fig. 1). The Explorer robot is capable of monitoring the environment in terms of temperature measurement, measuring the concentration of gases in the atmosphere and collecting the samples of soil. The Transporter is capable of transporting small robots and picking small objects as it is equipped with a container and a robotic arm and its purpose is to move small robots as close to the hazardous place as possible. Small robots called Pathfinder are intended to penetrate the area such as the room on fire and find potential victims or just allow the reconnaissance. All robots are equipped with one or more cameras and audio system for duplex communication. All the functions require the reliable and fast method of communication with enough bandwidth for the transmission of full duplex audio stream next to the simplex video stream and duplex control data stream. In the first part, the paper presents the brief overview of the market-available technologies for wireless communication; the second part presents the practical comparison test of selected products; and finally the last part of the paper describes the selected solution together with discussion on its capabilities.Fig. 1. Two of the group of four robots: small inspection robot and big transporter robotOne of the characteristic features of the designed group of robots is its low cost of production and maintenance, therefore the components used in the robot system could only be standard available constructions, but as the tests show, it is sufficient to fulfill the minimal requirement of range of at least fifty meters inside the typical building. Out of the considered communication equipment one of the commercially available Wi-Fi access point showed to be appropriate for the proposed application.

Abstract: The article analyses the possibilities of and demand for a combination of non-formal and formal education systems for the students studying mechatronics engineering and improving practical skills and synergistic abilities. The paper surveys the sector of Lithuanian engineering industry as well as its competitiveness and non-formal education of young specialists relevant to the sector. The publication also reviews the results of profit and demand for non-formal education projects concerning the students studying mechatronics engineering. The piece of writing provides a model and its logical scheme for improving the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of young mechatronics specialists through non-formal education.

Abstract: In order to adapt to the development trend in current vocational education, we developed a multi-functional hydraulic test bench for mechatronics teaching practice. The component structure and functional features of the test bench was introduced in this paper and the application to vocational education was proved to be effective. Practice shows that the bench not only provides students with good experimental conditions close to the actual production and inspires learning enthusiasm and innovation consciousness of the students, but also provides teachers with a platform for scientific research, improves the utilization value of equipment.

Abstract: Mechatronic platforms ensure the stimulation of the creativity, problem solving ability in working groups and training skills by solving the tasks and challenges in implementing new assimilated knowledge, but also by using their own ideas, collaborating and team working. The main objectives of the study consisted of examining the effects of using mechatronic platforms in educational processes and identifying new ways to use them in order to achieve trans and multidisciplinary technological knowledge and to create the ability to find and implement solutions to the encountered technological problems with the increase of creativity. In this study the focus was on ways of solving technical issues and this performance was achieved by students and teachers from pre-university education in using Mechatronic Platforms. The study was conducted over a period of two years (2012 and 2013) and benefited from the results obtained in the POSDRU 64069 Flexform - flexible training program on mechatronic platforms project. The obtained results lead to the development of new flexible educational applications for Mechatronic Platforms.

Abstract: The term Internet of Things as a component of Future Internet is a recent fast growing global network infrastructure which extends Internet with a sensors and actuators shield. The paper presents a hands-on learning kit based on an open standard embedded computer connected to Internet enabling live data processing. The system uses cloud programming tools to add significant value to the education purpose, by including up-to-date innovative technical approaches and pedagogical values for improving the attractiveness and efficiency of the education activities in the engineering area. The learning goal intends to develop the Internet of things as new universe based on smart objects, connected to the Internet via adequate sensors and actuators. This can be an essential tool for a deeper understanding of the main concepts in physics, informatics and math, even in the early steps of learning. Based on cloud programming resources, the hardware-software components use the latest version of low power 32-bit embedded computer development platform and process interfaces to allow data monitoring, remote physical experiments, mobile world supervising, and collaborative project development. As an open standard learning tool, the kit offers a new computational framework able to serve in scientific experiments and discovery-based learning. This study was strongly motivated by the European Union recommendation to support and enrich the university curriculum by engaging students in hands-on engineering and design activities.

Abstract: This paper explains and demonstrates a method to interconnect the video detection data flow with an innovative coded grid in order to precisely associate absolute coordinates to any scanned (micro) objects over a large area, without the aid of external bulky sensors. The concept of measuring micro-objects absolute coordinates is based on a series of coded information markings (micrometric terminal blocks) regularly and precisely printed on the bottom reference surface. In this manner the image processing could extract the values of the coded markings and precisely provide absolute coordinates for the camera image. The correspondence between the object and its absolute coordinates seems therefore straightforward. A very important challenge which must be solved is to read the information in real time, the method solving an optimization problem between the required processing speed and the maximum computing system resources. Finally it was obtained an innovative mechatronic system made of two essential sub-systems: the vision detection for micro-objects absolute reference positioning and characterization and a 3D micro-robotic translator for working space displacement. This system insured automatic scanning of micro-objects over large working spaces, detection process storing all specific information into a unique database file, which the operator can easily use to assign a set of automatic “pick-and-place” tasks for various micro assembly processes, as presented in the application example.

Abstract: Innovation ability is the inevitable requirement of social development. Innovation education is the foundation of cultivating talents and the need of using talents, and it is inevitable in the development of the times. Through the new teaching demand of ideological and political education in universitys, the author used his own rich experience of teaching practice of ideological and political education to explore innovation mechanism of university ideological and political education teaching method in practice, breaking through the old mode of ideological and political education and constructing the innovation mechanism of university ideological and political education pattern. It greatly promoted the ideological and political education to university students as the main body in the mode of development and effectively guided university ideological and political education work.

Abstract: The paper solved the task of development of the system of telecontrol by the mobile robot and algorithm of its work which allows automatically considering mutual orientation of a movable camera and the basis of the mobile robot. In this case the operator sets control signals using the image on the monitor. The robot moves in the specified direction with any initial orientation of a movable camera and the basis. Such algorithm was developed, simulated on model and realized as the program module.
