Abstract: This paper presents the results of a detailed study of the separation process in the range of characteristic values temperature (Т ≅ 0 ÷ 70 °C) and pressure (P ≅ 50 ÷ 700 kPa). The critical analysis of hydrocarbonaceous media separation process problem is made within functioning processing equipment on objects of the “Vyngapurovskoe” oil field in Russia. Modelling of first stage separation process is illustrated from data of reservoir fluid with detailed characteristic of evolution some components concentration into off-gas in dependence of temperature and pressure. Recommendations to the calculation of the component composition of hydrocarbonaceous fluids under the provisions of equilibrium thermodynamics using the model of Peng-Robinson are extradited. It has been established that the heavy hydrocarbons (С4+higher) concentration decreasing into off-gas theoretically could be achieved up to 48.41%.

Abstract: The spindle motor in a hard disk drive spins at a high rotational speed. These rotations generate air flow and thermal stress. Air flow is induced by the surface roughness of the media that is moving at a high speed through air. This air passes over the surface of many parts in the drive, including the media. Thermal stress is generated by heat in the parts, e.g. voice coil motor, pre-amplifier, slider pole tips, which are heated by electric power and by the spinning of the spindle motor. The air flow and thermal stress cause a change in the media shape called deformation.Simulation results show the trend of deformation has more bending when the slider moves outward from the media axis. The pressure acted more on the underside than on the upper side which caused the media to bend up to the top cover side of hard disk drive. The maximum deformation, 15 μm, occurred at the rim of media while the distance between the media and the slider is 30 μm; thus they did not contact each other.

Abstract: An investigation was conducted to determine an effective media condition for the growth of fresh and freeze-dried oyster mushroom mycelium. Fresh and freeze-dried mycelium sub-culture on liquid media obtained 0.3022 and 0.5081 maximum specific growth rate respectively. The doubling time for fresh and freeze-dried mycelium was calculated 2.2937 and 1.3642 correspondingly. On solid media, maximum specific growth rate for fresh and freeze-dried mycelium was obtained lower at 0.1636 and 0.3719 respectively. The doubling time for fresh and freeze-dried however, was calculated higher at 4.2368 and 1.8683 correspondingly. Freeze dried mycelium showed good recovery tendency after preservation at low temperature.

Abstract: Body has been incorporated with architecture because of media technology. Through literature reading, the paper takes some projects of Stelarc, Nox Architects and Marcos Navok as examples and analyzes characteristics and methods of the incorporation with body, media and building. Combination of body and media influenced the traditional comprehension of space perception and stimulated the relationship of body and Architecture. The discussion reveals incorporation with body and media became an important factor in the evolution of architecture.

Abstract: Acetic acid bacteria are used in the production of many kinds of food product: Acetobacter aceti, a starter culture of vinegar fermentation; Acetobacter xylinum, a starter culture of bacterial cellulose production (nata de coco). The objective of this research was to find cheap media for the preparation of seed culture of these bacteria. Coconut water, banana juice and a mixture of coconut water and banana juice (ratio 1:1) were used as inoculation media and compared with HS and GEY, the commonly used media for acetic acid bacteria. Acetobacter aceti TISTR102, Acetobacter xylinum TISTR975, Acetobacter xylinum AGR60 and the isolated Acetobacter xylinum Coc5 were used as the test strains. The pH and total sugar of all media were adjusted as the control media (HS & GEY) at 5.0 and 2% (w/v), respectively. The results found that all strains grew well in each medium and viable cells achieved the level of at least 106 CFU/ml when cultured for 12 hours at 30°C, 200 rpm. The result shows that constitutes of agricultural product such as coconut water and banana juice can be used as cheap inoculation media for acetic acid bacteria.

Abstract: In the hot days of summer, the efficiency of gas turbine is extremely reduced because the input air to compressors becomes hot. For solving this problem, one can increase the efficiency of the power house by charging to decrease the input air temperature to the compressor of gas turbine. In this paper, all kinds of cooling the inlet air to the gas turbine are introduced and then the technical and economical evaluation of these installed cooling system in Shahid Rajaee, Qom, Fars and Yazd power plants are expressed and the results show that the fog system cannot prove its effectiveness in Shahid Rajaee and Qom power plants. Whereas the installation of media systems in Fars combined cycle power plant produces more megawatt than its guarantee conditions and no particular problem has been observed.

Abstract: Abrasive flow machining (AFM) has become one of the more attractive finishing processes used in applications such as deburring, recast layer removal, radiusing as well as for polishing. Recently, there has been renewed interest in developing low cost/ low pressure modular AFM systems and media. The media which contains the abrasive particles is the key element in ensuring efficient material removal and a good surface finish. In this paper, the authors will present their work on the development and characterization of a new abrasive media formulation.

Abstract: The distribution of magnetic field in the container is important for the polishing ability of a permanent magnet-type magnetic barrel finishing machine. Therefore, in this study, the magnetic field distribution was measured with different magnets arrangement. It is found that the polarity and strength of magnets on a magnet block greatly affect the distribution of magnetic field. Polishing experiments were done to investigate the polishing ability. The relationship between the magnetic field distribution and the polishing ability was discussed. As a result, it was concluded that strong magnetic field led to superior polishing ability.

Abstract: The effect of linear alkyl benzene sulfonate (LAS) detergent on the activity of cassava fermenting enzymes was investigated for 72 hrs. Enzymatic assay methods were used to determine the activity of cassava fermenting enzymes: cellulase, α-amylase, pectin methyl esterase and phosphorylase. The cassava fermenting media were made up of LAS detergent concentration of between 1g/L to 5g/L. The results show that the LAS detergent of 2g/L and 3g/L gave optimum enzyme activity. The order of enzyme activity was pectin methyl esterase > α-amylase > phosphorylase > cellulase.
