Abstract: Micro-grid system is an integrated energy system as it consists of distributed energy resources (DERs) and multiple electrical loads operating in parallel or islanded grid. The primary objective of this project is to examine whether Micro-grid implementation can reduce the cost of energy. It can be determined through the modelling bus bar system; 26-Bus Test System. This application can be divided into three aspects which are modelling, simulation and analysis. The power system analysis was conducted under two conditions, steady state condition and contingencies condition using two different methods which are optimal power flow and economic dispatch. Newton-Raphson algorithm was introduced during the power flow analysis. The optimal power flow and economic dispatch for total generation cost was obtained through PowerWorld software simulation.

Abstract: In the past few decades, power system has developed into a large-scale network system of centralized electricity generation and long-distance transmission. But in recent years, electrical load has increasing, while the grid has not developed simultaneously, it makes transmission capacity of long-distance transmission lines increase, so as the decline of stability and security of power grid. In order to achieve the goal of not only increasing utilization of renewable energy, but also solving the drawbacks of large-scale power systems, implementing distributed power generation is an effective way. Despite the advantages of distributed generation, there are many problems in itself, for example, the high cost of distributed generation stand-alone access and control difficulties. In addition, distributed generation is a non-controllable source for large grid. Then in the beginning of this century, scholars have proposed the concept of micro-grid.

Abstract: The application of micro-grid affects distribution network, while the existing power supply reliability assessment index of distribution network cannot reflect its specific contribution. Based on an analysis of the shortages with the existing power supply reliability assessment index, a new index considering the time and power for evaluating the power supply reliability is proposed. The example indicates that the index proposed can be simply calculated and quantitatively measures the contribution to power supply reliability assessment of distribution network.

Abstract: As distribute power generation and micro-grid technology develops, more and more researchers attach importance to the problems of power quality in micro-grid, especially the problem of harmonic. This paper describes the impact and harm harmonic has on the power quality of the power grid. It introduces a revised method of managing micro-grid harmonics which uses an active power filter (APF), and the control method of APF is different from the traditional one. It also establishes the simulation model of micro-grid, analyze the simulation results and experiment in actual micro-grid to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract: Micro-grid gives full play to the advantages of distributed power supply by low pollution and flexible power supply form. Micro-grid has good economic benefits and social environmental benefits. Core technology of Micro-grid, policy support and grid-connected mechanism are problems encountered in Micro-grid construction and operation. Based on the analysis of development situation on the Micro-grid operation, this paper classifies the Micro-grid investors. According to the main purpose of different investors, this paper analyzes the cost structure and income structure of Micro-grid operation. And on this basis this paper proposed the corresponding optimal objective function under different Micro-grid operation modes.

Abstract: Themicro-grid technology is an effective way to promote renewable energydevelopment and utilization. Low voltage micro-grid can absorb photovoltaic,wind power and other large number of scattered random distributed power supply,and the system may be three-phase asymmetry while operation, randomness of thepower output and load is stronger. Therefore an improved bidirectional power flow algorithm is putforward suitable for low voltage micro-grid. According to the physicalstructure components of the micro-grid and different kinds of micro powersupply, the types of micro-grid in power flow calculation is studied to dealwith complex node in the micro-grid, improved Zbus algorithm is proposed tocalculate the power flow of micro -grid .IEEE-69 is taken as an example for simulation, the resultsshow that the proposed method is better for the biggest error ratio of voltagedrop and calculation time than traditional method. Atthe same time the algorithm is also suitable for island operation state of the microgrid.

Abstract: Reducing environmental pollution and achieving economic operation have become focus of the research about micro-grid (MG). The minimum operating cost and the minimum pollution emission cost are taken as optimizing objects, and the multi-object optimizing model of MG is established. The membership function is used to process multi-objective function, then the conversion of multi-object to single object is achieved. Genetic Algorithm is used to optimize the operating state of each unit, then the best operation mode is formed.

Abstract: When Micro-grid (MG) is accessed into large scale of wind turbines, whose anti-peak-adjusting characteristic will increases difficulty of economic and safe operation about MG. The ability to participate in the system peak-adjustment of micro-turbine will be greatly limited, as the CHP run as “heat-load-based” mode and the electric power outputting depends on heat load demand. So that, installing heat boiler to absorb surplus wind power in the anti-peak-adjusting periods, and to combine with CHP supplying heat energy will decoupling “heat-load-based” constraint, and then the flexible schedulability of MG will be improved. The minimum operating cost of MG is regarded as optimizing object, Genetic Algorithm is used to optimize operational status of each unit in MG, then the heat and electricity comprehensive optimization is realized.
