Abstract: This paper presents an innovative technology in the field of truss structures, which is based on an innovative concept of mixing two different types of materials and joining them with a newly conceived connection, able to carry high loads with a small size. After an initial feasibility study aimed at pursuing the realization of sustainable and green structures, the project of the hybrid space truss was finally developed. Here, hybridization is the keyword, that is, making use of two different building materials, steel and wood, to achieve lighter roofs through a specialization of their functions and an optimization of their mechanical properties. Another key point is modularity, which is an important aspect that allows easy and fast assembly of structures and, most of all, standardization of parts. The trusses have been designed in detail, with special attention to the connections, and have been built and tested at the Laboratories of the Hunan University at Changsha (China). In a typical process of “designing by experimenting”, the prototypes have been produced and the assembly process has been tested in order to confirm the feasibility of the whole process, from production to construction to ultimate performance conditions.

Abstract: The development of precision seeder is still in an initial stage in China. Most seeders are mechanical and semi-precision sowing, and intelligent monitoring and controlling systems also have great shortage. This paper discusses intelligent seeding monitoring, fertilizer box and seed box margin monitoring, and bellows pressure monitoring. The main feature of this system is that it adopts modularity, sensor with high-sensitivity and wireless transmission technology for convenient maintenance, which greatly improves the reliability of the system, and provides a feasible scheme for the development of precision seeder.

Abstract: Community detection in complex network has been an active research area in data mining and machine learning. This paper proposed a community detection method based on multi-objective evolutionary algorithm, named CDMOEA, which tries to find the Pareto front by maximize two objectives, community score and community fitness. Fast and Elitist Multi-objective Genetic Algorithm is used to attained a set of optimal solutions, and then use Modularity function to choose the best one from them. The locus based adjacency representation is used to realize genetic representation, which ensures the effective connections of the nodes in the network during the process of population Initialization and other genetic operator. Uniform crossover is introduced to ensure population’s diversity. We compared it with some popular community detection algorithms in computer generated network and real world networks. Experiment results show that it is more efficient in community detection.

Abstract: Detecting community structure from complex networks has triggered considerable attention in several application domains. This paper proposes a new community detection method based on improved genetic algorithm (named CDIGA), which tries to find the best community structure by maximizing the network modularity. String encoding is used to realize genetic representation. Parts of nodes assign their community identifiers to all of their neighbors to ensure the convergence of the algorithm and eliminate unnecessary iterations when initial population is created. Crossover operator and mutation operator are improved too, one-way crossover strategy is introduced to crossover process, the Connect validity of mutation node is ensured in mutation process. We compared it with three other algorithms in computer generated networks and real world networks, Experiment Results show that the improved algorithm is highly effective for discovering community structure.

Abstract: Take the rice and wheat combine harvester threshing device as an illustration, utilize the idea of modular design, adopt the method of functional analysis, the threshing device is divided into different modules. Combining the parametric modeling technology, and use Solidworks Software as Platform, the modularization design of the harvester is fulfilled by partitioning and combining the modules, which provides a solution to the fast allocation of different combine harvester.

Abstract: The article discusses the design of modular gripper for industrial robot based on the modularity. This modularity includes the variable layout of fingers into three positions for the specified grip. It also consists of the specification of objects manipulation, their dimensions and weights with this type of gripper. The proposal is based on the biomechanical principle of the human hand. According to the analysis of human hand, there is a possibility to categorize every type of grip. The concept of gripper will introduce its own possibilities, functionality and fulfillment of required grip tasks. Design is based also on limited requirements, which are determined by the envelope of flange of industrial robot, application and others factors.

Abstract: This study focuses on business relationships in Japan for industries pertaining to dyeing and finishing. The authors analyzed the complex network of 3354 companies contained in the Annual Report on the textile-related trade, 1998 edition published by Sen-I Sha Company. Based on community extraction proposed by Newman in 2004, there are 46 communities in complex network and 2 large competitive communities containing a lot of dyeing and finishing companies are existed. As results of community extraction of the complex network that deletes one big company on the betweenness centrality, the structure of the community is changed.
