Abstract: This paper proposes a product module division method based on BOM and degree of modularity. First, based on BOM, the product structure tree is formed by taking spare parts as nodes, and the incidence matrix and correlation diagram are obtained by analyzing a variety of correlation of the nodes. Then, it proposes the definition of the degree of modularity, minimum value and mean value of the optimal degree of modularity are selected to determine the division of the modules. Finally, the working unit of the wheel loader are taken as an example to describe the reasonableness and effectiveness of this method.

Abstract: Customers requirements are mapped into function modules, matching with structure modules and signing the corresponding structure entities. Main structure of product family can be depicted as a directed complex network. Parameters such as node betweenness, edge betweenness and Q function values are calculated through simple-path detecting algorithm, for obtaining distributing curve of Q and clustering dendrogram which we can gain division results from. The results are adjusted and optimized according to the parts usage times and structure entities with sign. As an example, the product family of industry steam turbine is analyzed with this algorithm and some practical results are obtained.

Abstract: This paper proposes a novel partitioning algorithm based on angles between vectors using community detection theory. Considering the physical properties of the power system, the weighted modularity matrix of power grid is constructed and modified to a non-negative definite matrix which can be an orthogonal matrix by orthogonal decomposition. Thus transform the community detection problem as a vector partitioning problem which can be solved without decomposing the modularity matrix or even computing the vertex vector explicitly either. A novel partitioning algorithm based on merging vectors with least angle is designed. The algorithm is applied to partition IEEE 39-bus system, and the results demonstrate the validity of our algorithm.

Abstract: This paper focuses on analyzing design methods on product modularity. Through an experimental case, the paper shows that design knowledge is of vital importance to conduct modular design. Modular design is consequence of combining different types of uncertain structured functional knowledge. The paper shows that it is not only the functional knowledge structure that drives the modular design, but also the ability of the designer to gain new functional knowledge, and dynamically, what designer does with that functional knowledge.

Abstract: This paper is to research and design an open and modularization multi-function embedded NC platform. The platform takes ARM as the core, and using DSP chip to realize interpolation operation, abundant I/O ports and peripheral devices interfaces were designed, with high performance, cost effective and stronger universality features, easy to maintain and upgrade. User can add the special module according their need to achieve wire-cutting, lathing, drilling, milling and other operation and process of the NC tools.

Abstract: In this paper, the issue of high-end oriented development in electronic information manufacturing industry is discussed. Based on the view of modularity, industrial value chain and driving forces have been analyzed to understand the basic law and motivation in development process. According to ‘visible design rules’ and ‘hidden design parameters’ in the modular system, the path modal of high-end oriented development has been built, which indicates that the synergetic effect, high-tech and high added value can be obtained by building and enhancing the synergy process and technological innovation.

Abstract: A power network partitioning model based on the weighed local similarity measure is presented in this paper considering the regional decoupling characteristics of reactive power. A weighted graph model of reactive power network is established and a new measurement of local similarity based on weighed graph is defined. To utilize our measurement of similarity to partition reactive power network, a partitioning algorithm based on generalized ward hierarchical clustering method is proposed. The algorithm can ensure balance of the reactive power inside partition. Applying the proposed algorithm to IEEE 39-bus system, the results show that the proposed algorithm is feasible and effective.

Abstract: Detecting and characterizing the community structure of complex network is fundamental. We compare the classical optimization indexes of modularity and modularity density, which are quality indexes for a partition of a network into communities. Based on this, we propose a quantitative function for community partition, named communitarity or C value. We demonstrate that the quantitative is superior to modularity Q and modularity density D. Both theoretical and numerical results show that optimizing the new index not only can resolve small modules, but also can correctly identify the number of communities.
