Abstract: The paper aims to present some studies on the influence of mechanical braking systems with shoes on separately excited DC motors, intended to change the regime speeds. The researches were carried out by braking a 5 W DC motor with a maximum speed of 700 rpm, intended for special drives, with the help of a polyamide half-shoe brake, when measuring the variation of some process parameters: speed of the motor under the braking conditions, the temperature inside the shoe and the electrical parameters of the motor - voltage, current, power and energy consumed.

Abstract: This study proposes a Mahalanobis Distance Measurement (MDM) method to analyze current waveform for determining the motor’s quality types. The MDM method consists of three major stages: (i) the preprocessing stage which is for enlarging motor current waveforms’ amplitude and eliminating noises, and includes signal amplitude amplifier, filter circuit (eliminating noises), and analog-to-digital converter (ADC) parts, (ii) the qualitative features stage which is for qualitative feature selection on motor current waveforms, and (iii) the classification stage which is for determining motor quality types using the MDM method. It can recognize defective motors and their defective types in less than 0.5 second. In the experiment, the total classification accuracy (TCA) was approximately 99.03% in average. The proposed method has the advantages of good detection results, no complex mathematic computations, hi-speed, and hi-reliability.

Abstract: The speed control system of DC motor normally uses increasing of electric current and voltage for obtaining required speed and torque with regardless of effects from variable of load torque to system. Including that noise will make some errors in speed and torque control. This research aims to present a method for developing the high accuracy in speed control of DC motor by a technique of adaptive torque compensation that is evolved on Lyapunov stability and using Kalman filter for screening out the evident noises in the system. Results reveals that the adaptive torque compensator evolved from the Lyapunov stability can compensate a stable torque and when it is worked with Kalman filter, it can compensate torque correctly and can control more accuracy of motor speed.

Abstract: The paper deals with the description of a computational model of an ATV vehicle in Simulink software. This computational model is created using the basic elements of own library and represents the main driveline parts for the simulation of longitudinal and lateral vehicle dynamics. The article describes the design and function of the computational model and demonstrates the usage of an ATV model in the NI VeriStand software. It can be simulated on the hardware for real-time testing. A simulation of drive is then done to verify the functionality of the assembled model.

Abstract: It will vibrate when the natural frequency close to the external exciting force during the operation of the motor, accurate and effective calculation of the natural frequency of the motor has an important significance to damping noise. The inherent frequencies of the motor were got by numerical simulation model and the ANSYS finite element modal analysis, and comparison results verify the effectiveness of the motor model. The effect of the foot length change to the inherent frequency was researched emphasis, and puts forward related suggestions.

Abstract: A large number of harmonic is mainly produced by with the discrete variable frequency soft starter. The harmonic during the motor soft starting is characterized by the high energy consumption and signal interference. Therefore, harmonic analyzing and filtering of motor discrete variable frequency soft starter is presented in this paper to achieve low energy consumption and ensure the motor soft starting stably. The following works have been done in the study: introduce the reason of harmonics appearance, analyze the harmonic, and present the filtering approach. The motor soft starter developed with this filtering approach has been successfully applied to filter out harmonic and to improve the starting performance when the motors draw the heavy-loads. It saves energy, stabilize the voltage of the power supply network.

Abstract: Along with the lack gradually of fossil energy, people began to pay attention to the using of solar energy that easy to obtain and no pollution. Today,a lot of vehicle-mounted systems have begin to use solar photovoltaic panels. But with the driving of vehicle, photovoltaic panels often can’t face to the sun ,unable to get enough direct sunlight. In order to change the fact, writer designed a new system. In this system, we use ambient light detection module and MCU to locate the sun, then MCU controls two motors to make the photovoltaic panel change its orientation,so vehicle-mounted solar photovoltaic panel can change orientation automatically with the light.

Abstract: The amplitude feature of those current eigenfrequencies resulting from bearing banded failure is merely focused even though it is very important for distinguishing bearing failure. This theme described the torque oscillation resulting from bearing banded failure based on periodic rectangular pulse model, deduced the modulation principle between rotor magnetomotive force and torque oscillation, presented the relation expression between various banded failure and the amplitude of different eigenfrequency. Finally, a series of simulation studies were conducted and results show that the proposed theory is valid.
