Abstract: Aiming at the dynamic unbalance problem of high speed motorized spindle, an online dynamic balance detection method based on Fourier transform, polynomial curve fitting and Hooke's law is proposed, at the same time, based on virtual instrument LabVIEW software platform, programming deal with the vibration spectrum image of the motorized spindle. Combined with the detection method, output signal of the size, displacement and vector direction of unbalance force of the motorized spindle are obtained, the output signal would be transmit to dynamic balancing device to complete regulation of high speed motorized spindle online dynamic balance and achieve the real-time monitoring, analysis and timely adjustment of dynamic balance of high speed motorized spindle by using the programming of virtual instrument. We verified detection method by the experiment of online dynamic balance adjustment of the motorized spindle. Detection method of dynamic balance of motorized spindle based on LabVIEW can intuitively test vibration characteristics, the accurate detection of online dynamic balance is helpful to improve the rotation precision of the high speed spindle and realize high quality parts processing.Key words: Motorized spindle; the dynamic balance; Online detection; LabVIEW

Abstract: Ultra-high speed grinding (UHSG) is a significant and promising machining technology in grinding hard-to-cut materials. To find out the aerodynamics of the grinding wheel body when the airflow field has subsonic, transonic, and supersonic speed characteristics and clarify the corresponding influence on the grinding mechanism, the study is conducted to develop a supersonic grinding machine tool that is capable of being operated at extreme wheel speed up to 450 m/s and meanwhile accompanying with high grinding capability. In accordance with the main design objectives, a high performance grinding motorized spindle with maximum rotational speed 36000r/min and maximum power 28kW is developed. The linear motor feed driven system is also exploited to satisfy the requirement of maximum reciprocating speed up to 2m/s. Following plenty of specific design and performance analysis works, a prototype of supersonic grinding machine tool is finally developed. In the end, this paper also puts forward a number of further studies and prospective for the research activities on basis of the developed grinder.

Abstract: Based on the theory of point contact thermal elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL),the mathematical models for the thermal EHL of high-speed angular contact ball bearing are established. Multi-grid method and multigrid integration method are respectively used to calculate out the film pressure and film thickness respectively,and the column-by-column scanning method is used to calculate temperature rise of isothermal EHL and thermal EHL. The calculation results show that, under the pure rolling condition, temperature rise of oil film temperature is mainly caused by the compression work and shear heat at inlet and the heat in contact zone mainly comes from the inlet and the heat conduction around; the temperature rise results in oil viscosity lower and the lubricating film thinner ,in this way it reduces the lubrication performance in contact pair.

Abstract: In order to control effectively the temperature of the motorized spindle, based on thermodynamics, heat transfer theory and fluid dynamics control theory, the model of motorized spindle with cooling system is established and simulated. Based on the idea of orthogonal experiment and simulation experiment, the comprehensive tests are built, and the optimum matching relation between the heat flux of motor and the flow velocity of cooling liquid is determined in this article. The results show that the flow velocity of coolant can be adjusted according to the heat flux of motor which can control the temperature in the steady range and improves the cooling effect.

Abstract: High-speed motorized spindle is the core component of the CNC machines. Its dynamic performance directly affects the accuracy of the geometry, and be the root cause of vibration, noise and temperature increase, etc. Its motor control system has the characteristics of nonlinear and strong coupling, which is one of the key R&D items of the spindle design. Based on granular computing, this paper selects the appropriate granularity to analyze the coupling between the motor control parameters and system performance, and propose a zoning decoupling and optimization method to optimize the overall system performance, which has practical application value.

Abstract: For the hard and brittle materials like optical glasses, ultra-precision grinding machine is primarily used, which can generate parts with high surface finish, high form accuracy and surface integrity. Motorized spindle is an inevitable choice of ultra-precision machine, but it has a prominent heat problem for its specific configuration of build-in motor. The paper does some research about motorized spindle thermal property. The heat resources and heat transferring ways are analyzed. The temperature distribution and deformation distribution of motorized spindle system are calculated through thermal structure coupling finite element analysis. The analysis results can provide warranty for motorized spindle design.

Abstract: The article describes main trends in cutting performance enhancement: traditional force cutting and high-speed machining. Results of analysis of products by world's leading manufacturers of motorized spindles are provided, and conclusion is made that the most used standard for connection between spindle and toolholder in drilling, milling and boring machines is HSK. Limitations of operational features of motorized spindles by load capacity of HSK connection and efficiency of tool usage are shown.

Abstract: High-speed motorized spindle is a key device of modern industry and has been widely used in numerical control machine. Temperature distribution, speed control loading characteristics, precision maintenance, liberation intensity and circumgyration error are not only the key demand of motorized spindle's capability but also an important index to evaluate it's performance. Therefore, this study has detailed described the main structure of motorized spindle. The basic structure and working principal was introduced, and then demonstrated a series of models and specifications of motorized spindle. The finite element model of high-speed motorized spindle was built up and carried out thermal analysis to study the heat generation and heat transfer. With the help of ANSYS finite element software, the temperature field distribution and the temperature rise condition for motorized spindle were analyzed. The result shows that the front bearing has a higher temperature than that of back bearing. The maximum temperature of inner ring is bigger than that of outer ring. The results contribute to selection of appropriate bearing for motorized spindle system.
