Abstract: The research estimates the carbon dioxide emissions of energy consumption from 2003 to 2011 using the method in IPCC national greenhouse gases listing guidance, by adopting the method of Kaya identities and Laspeyres index decomposition technique to analyze the influencing factors and the influencing degree. The result shows that the main factors influencing carbon dioxide emissions are energy structure and per capita GDP, and to develop clean energy, to improve energy structure are important choice to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions of energy consumption, realize low carbon in the future. This research provides an important reference to protect the environment and to promote the sustainable development of economy.

Abstract: Currently, the development of flood control system of Nanjing City has been entering a new critical phase, facing some great challenging problems that never experienced before. To meet these challenges, this research initially reviewed the developing process of flood control system of Nanjing City after China's reform and opening up. Based on the analysis of current flood control situation, four major challenge of was summarized. To solve these problems, this research provided some productive suggestions for future development of flood control system of Nanjing City from six perspectives, namely principle of flood control, layout of flood control system, drainage system improvement, flood management, technology application and supporting measures.

Abstract: Along with new urbanization, substantial debates have been triggered on whether urban ecological economic system of CO2 balance relates to the sustainable urbanization. Based on the data of Nanjing city, China, in 2010, we calculate the total amount of CO2 emission and CO2 sequestration. Results show that CO2 emission mainly comes from industrial production (63.19%) and transportation (33.44%). Moreover, industrial raw coal (51.69%) is the main source of the carbon emission, whereas cultivated land (68.62%) and forestland (27.59%) are the most important carriers of CO2 sequestration. According to the calibrated results, we conclude that: (1) The relationship between the urban ecological subsystem and economic subsystem is uncoordinated; (2) Nanjing's economic development exerts particular influences on other regions ecological environment.

Abstract: Mining abandoned lands had become a new problem encountered in the process of urbanization in China. This article described a research of typical case, which took Nanjing city as the study space, and abandoned lands of open-pit mines as the study type. With an site investigation and data analysis, this research focused on the following four aspects: hierarchical size, mining methods, location distribution, and reuse situation. Working over the characteristics of current situation, this article pointed out existing problems and set goals. Then two advices were given to the further reuse work of open-pit mines abandoned lands in Nanjing. The first one is implementation by sorting and in batches, and the second one is economic measures combined effectively.

Abstract: This paper extracted green space distribution information from multi-temporal LANDSAT multi-spectral remote sensing images to analyze the evolution of Nanjing’s green space between 1988 and 2007. The findings suggest that the current distribution of green space is not balanced and that the total area of green space has decreased over time. The trend towards fragmentation is obvious in the disproportionately large decline in medium-sized green spaces. Mountain forest and other large green spaces, however, have been better protected. Before 1998, the fragmentation was most apparent in the green spaces of the city’s inner circle. After 1998, the green space in the city’s middle circle began to suffer from the effects of severe human interference. After 2003, the outer circle of green space began to fragment and diminish as a result of urbanization, and the original ecological corridor surrounding the city collapsed.
