Abstract: This study optimizes on the technological conditions for extraction of natural bamboo fiber by means of microbial degradation of bamboo lignin. Results show that by the orthogonal experiment, we have studied out optimal conditions for combining three strains with fermentation to produce enzyme: 10.0 g/L glucose, 0.2 g/L ammonium tartrate, 4.5 buffer solution pH value and 20.0/250 ml loading liquid quantity. In these above four factors, the primary and secondary factors affecting enzyme production are: carbon source > pH value > loading liquid quantity > nitrogen source. Meanwhile, the experiment has studied the influence of single factor on lignin degradation: at the temperature of 37 °C, about 4 x 107spore concentration, adding 1.5 mg/L veratryl alcohol and introducing air at the efflux rate of 1 L/min are bamboo crude fiber optimal conditions for microbial selective degradation of lignin.

Abstract: According to Natural Bamboo Fiber/ Polypropylene fiber(PP) non-woven materials encountered the problem that its flame retardation is insufficient, this paper tried to add flame retardant to improve its performance, then the cone calorimeter was used to evaluate its flammability. The results show that Peak-Heat Release Rate and Smoke Release Rate etc significantly improved. In accordance with the UL94 ,the flame retardation meet the level V-0 , consistent with the requirements of enterprise.

Abstract: The natural bamboo fiber is a new kind of textile material. It is made from bamboo plant in physical ways. We studied the basic microstructure of natural bamboo fiber with the scanning electron microscope. The features of fiber length, the linear density and mechanical property were also analyzed. The degrees of crystallization and orientation were tested by diffractometer as well. The results showed that there were a lot of recesses and strips in the longitudinal direction, while the cross-section of the fiber was the shape of polygon with lumen in it. The length distribution arranged from 1.5mm to 215mm, the linear density was about 5.8dtex. The crystallization degree of the natural bamboo fiber was similar to the ramie fiber. In standard state, the breaking strength of the bamboo fiber was 6.71 cN/dtex, and the breaking elongation was about 3.48%, so the natural bamboo fiber was a kind of fiber with high strength and low extension. In hygrometric state, the tenacity and the elongation were both become larger.

Abstract: The natural bamboo fiber is a green environmental protection type fiber material extracted from bamboo. Compared with other fibers, it has better permeability, unique resilience, transient water absorption, antibacterial activity, deodorant activity, and a strong lateral and longitudinal strength. This paper reviews the structure of natural bamboo fiber and its characteristics, physical morphology, chemical composition, hygroscopicity and moisture liberation, antibacterial activity, anti-ultraviolet function, spinning performance of the development and utilization status of bamboo fiber, which provides reference for the research and utilization of natural bamboo fiber.
