Abstract: To determine the failure cause of rolling bearing of a factory heating device, oil samples extracted from the recovery of lubricant oil and were tested by comprehensive oil monitoring techniques (including physico-chemical properties analysis, pollution degree detection and ferrography wear particle analysis). The results show that root cause of failure is the operating temperature of the bearing is too high. Failure form is burning. Therefore, the application of oil monitoring techniques to analyze the mechanical failure mechanism, to prevent mechanical failure and extend machine life is very helpful.

Abstract: In this paper, spectrum analysis is conducted on wear elements in lubricating oil of a heavy vehicle to study the wear conditions. The wear elements in lubrication oil of the heavy vehicle’s transmission system were analyzed, and the evaluation value of wearied vehicle is calculated by processing spectrum data using fuzzy set theory. The two-dimensional concentration gradient model of the vehicle’s wear and tear state is obtained. The method provides the basis for understanding and judging wear action and fault diagnosis of the vehicle intelligently.

Abstract: In this paper, an on-line ferrograph sensor was used to monitor the wear condition of a gearbox in mechanical equipment. A Grey-Markov model was studied to predict its wear trend, and simulation results proved the effectiveness of the model. It provides a reliable method for wear condition monitoring and remaining life prediction of mechanical transmission systems.

Abstract: Contaminant materials in lubricants are signs for prediction and measurement of wear in engines. Therefore oil monitoring is considered as one of the most effective techniques for maintaining the heavy equipments. However based on oil analysis data, the identification of engine problem is very hard due to different contribution factors. Hence, this paper is purposed to analyze the wear behavior of some sets of selected heavy equipment engine based on documented oil analysis data during two years in different conditions to track engine failures using trend analysis. Furthermore the selected equipments are divided into two major groups (plantation and forestry, and general construction) based on their environment, to show the effects of conditions on the engine wear behavior.

Abstract: In this paper, the principles of modern emission spectrography technique was described and the analytical process and characteristics of it was introduced. Based on an review of its application in equipment oil monitoring, emission spectrography was thought a very valuable technique of lubricants condition monitoring. Now, emission spectrography has become the core of the modern oil monitoring technique, and its development and application prospect are extremely wide.

Abstract: In order to realizing real-time on-line oil monitoring for high-power gearbox’s wear state during operation, a monitoring system is developed on the basis of the ferrograph sensors in this paper. By means of a multi-level monitoring system, a real-time remote monitoring and analysis system of unattended machine wear condition is achieved which can real-time display the image of the wear particles and the wear information of the gears, thus getting such advantages as timely notice and warning, reducing equipment’s damage and maintenance costs . The initial application of system on the real machine shows good results and effects.

Abstract: Wear debris in hydraulic oil causes most of the faults of hydraulic system and is also an important information carrier, so it is essential to check the condition of wear debris in hydraulic oil. On the basis of inductive principle and microfluidic chip technology, the design of a microfluidic chip of oil detection is presented in this paper. the relation between coil geometry parameters and inductive change of planar inductor are analyzed through the related experimental statistics, the result being that when the ferrous metallic particle flows through planar inductor, the measured inductance variation increases with the number of turns and decreases with the coil line width.
