Abstract: Process monitoring in additive manufacturing (AM), i.e. in laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) of metal parts, has been identified as the crucial bottleneck in accelerating the AM industrialization process. To reduce the cost and time needed to produce and qualify an AM part, an online monitoring system of the manufacturing process is desirable. While the currently available systems capture a large amount of process data, they still lack the ability to interpret the acquired data adequately. In this work we present the first steps towards an automated evaluation of online monitoring data i.e. melt pool data. It is shown that a well-trained convolutional neural network (CNN) is able to detect artificially induced process deviations on the basis of melt pool characteristics.

Abstract: Based on the characteristics of power cables, an intelligent online monitoring system is constructed for failure detection and positioning. The implementation idea is illustrated and the main functions of the system are introduced in this paper. When power cable is destroyed or stolen, the system will send warning messages to alert the power management department. The actual applications show that the system has the advantages of convenience, low cost and high reliability.

Abstract: The MOA is the main lightning protection equipment in power system, The status is generally monitored by online monitoring and offline test in routine maintenance. Traditional MOA live detection requires a lot of wiring, and has operation problems and safety risks. A new distributed MOA online monitoring wireless measurement is presented in this paper, that is, 433M wireless transmission and GPS clock synchronization technology fulfill distributed wireless synchronization measurement in MOA online monitoring device. Focusing on the design principles, implementation methods and the device composition, it is indicated that the wireless synchronization testing result is same with wired synchronization testing result, which can meet the requirements of MOA online monitoring.

Abstract: This paper describes a system for the online monitoring of insulators contamination, the system monitors equivalent salt deposit density near insulators on the power system by using optical technology. This paper mainly analyzes contamination components on optical sensor surface of different pollution sources coming from 17 sites in Sichuan, the inland areas of China, and draws the conclusion that calcium sulfate of industrial sources is more than ones of agricultural sources.

Abstract: Present icing monitoring system mainly depends on detecting the meteorological parameters and dynamic characteristics of the structure of the overhead icing line. However, all these systems need additional equipments for data collection. This paper provides a new method based on voltage and current of both ends of the line and discriminates the icing region and its severity via the change of active power and reactive power. It requires the voltage and current serving as signal source which is provided by the data collecting device on the both ends of lines. In this way it can accomplish the Monitoring task of icing transmission.

Abstract: The assessment of the winding deformation of transformer has a certain practical significance. In this paper, an Improved Ultrasonic Ranging (IUR) method is proposed to assess the winding deformation of transformer. Firstly, the basic principle of winding deformation detection using ultrasonic and the working principle of detection device are discussed. Secondly, the impact of the factors such as transformer oil temperature and echo signal attenuation on the test results is analyzed. Then, a new IUR method is composed, which can realize the on-line monitoring of transformer winding deformation. Finally, an assessment equipment of transformer winding deformation based on the online monitoring is developed, and a prototype is used to test the transformer mode, proving that this method is feasible.

Abstract: It proposes a solution of the online monitoring and alarm system of the galvanized steel wire’s weight. This system can achieve stable and efficient real-time data acquisition, waveform display, and automatic alarm as soon as overrun. It also develops the functions of data management which is based on SQL Server. The system will provide the steel wire galvanizing production a comprehensive service of online monitoring, alarm and data management and so on.

Abstract: With application in turning, this paper presents a stability control system which based on a new strategy. It works by permanent assessment of the operating point position system which is relative to the stability limit and process parameter, in-process modification. For example, this point is always placed in the stable domain that gives the highest process performance. In the case of turning, here approached: first, this area is the stability limit proximity; second, the operating point system position is determined by assessing a cutting force monitored signal feature, last, it changed this position by modifying the cutting edge setting angle, the feed rate, and the cutting speed, as it follows: when the risk of the stability limit is imminent, the setting angle is increased, which followed by a feed rate diminishing and then by a worked piece rotation speed reduction, after surpassing the risk, the three variables modification is reversed, through this way the chatter onset could be avoided and the performance can be kept in every moment at the highest level. The system was experimentally implemented on a transversal lathe. The results of tests about dedicatedly designed specimens are showing a machining productivity that significantly increases, in conditions of a stable cutting process. Without important modifications, it can be easily added to the existing CNC machine tools.

Abstract: Focus on the increasingly prominent problems of power quality of dedicated users, study on solving electric energy problems, especially for harmonic pollution, was essential. This paper to study the method of testing and calculating electric energy index, then designed hardware to monitor and analyze power quality measurement data. The hardware was developed base on dual DSP2812, which was very advanced digital signal processing chip, and the hardware utilized high precision instantaneous synchronous sampling chip MAX1324, extended RAM and FLASH, RS232 communication circuit, high capacity SD card storage circuit, etc. The dual DSP power quality smart meter was tested and applied in dedicated users and its reliability, practicability, availability and accuracy was authenticated. This smart meter also has advantages of easy to carry, low cost, high precision, easy to promote, etc. can effectively meet power quality management of dedicated users.
