Abstract: This study aims to represent an approach for transferring the materials testing datasets to the digital schema that meets the prerequisites of the semantic web. As a use case, the tensile stress relaxation testing method was evaluated and the testing datasets for several copper alloys were prepared. The tensile stress relaxation testing ontology (TSRTO) was modeled following the test standard requirements and by utilizing the appropriate upper-level ontologies. Eventually, mapping the testing datasets into the knowledge graph and converting the data-mapped graphs to the machine-readable Resource Description Framework (RDF) schema led to the preparation of the digital version of testing data which can be efficiently queried on the web.

Abstract: This research deals with the development of the Vickers hardness knowledge graph, mapping the example dataset in them, and exporting the data-mapped knowledge graph as a machine-readable Resource Description Framework (RDF). Modeling the knowledge graph according to the standardized test procedure and using the appropriate upper-level ontologies were taken into consideration to develop the highly standardized, incorporable, and industrial applicable models. Furthermore, the Ontopanel approach was utilized for mapping the real experimental data in the developed knowledge graphs and the resulting RDF files were successfully evaluated through the SPARQL queries.

Abstract: With the advancement of globalization and the growth of Industry 4.0, it is necessary to apply new concepts and methods for manufacturing to increase the productive capacity and efficiency of processes. These concepts allow the application of intelligent manufacturing within the Aerospace industry, responsible for transforming manufacturing processes using software technologies based on artificial intelligence, to automate the Sheet Metal Parts modeling process and get more accurate data. Therefore, it applies to Models for Manufacturing (MfM) in product projects, a recent methodology that presents an organization for formally defined information and knowledge. However, MfM does not consider information tracing and inconsistency analysis in the modeling phases. Based on this paradigm, a solution is proposed by developing and adopting methods, processes, and tools of Ontology-Based Engineering based on the MfM model to obtain data. In addition, Semantic Technologies are used for data processing through an OWL structure, also formalizing the information through semantic rules in SWRL. This research aims to: (I) Obtain data extracted from Sheet Metal Parts and structure them from ontology; (II) Formalize information about this data using semantic rules; (III) Validate information between product and manufacturing projects to identify and address inconsistencies in advance.

Abstract: Today’s markets are rather matured and arbitrage opportunities remain for a very short time. The main objective of the paper is to devise a stock market ontology-based novel trading strategy employing machine learning to obtain maximum stock return with the highest stock ratio. The paper aims to create a dynamic portfolio to obtain high returns. In this work, the impact of the applied machine learning techniques on the Chinese market was studied. The problem of investing a particular total amount in a large universe of stocks is considered. The Chinese stocks traded on Shanghai Stock Exchange and Shenzhen Stock Exchange are chosen to be the entire universe. The inputs that are considered are fundamental data and company-specific technical indicators unlike the macroscopic factors considered in the existing systems. In the stock market document repository, ontological constructs with Word Sense Disambiguation (WSD) algorithm improve the conceptual relationships and reduce the ambiguities in Ontological construction. The machine learning techniques Kernel Regression and Recurrent Neural Networks are used to start the analysis. The predicted values of stock prices from the Artificial Neural Network provided quite accurate results with an accuracy level of 97.55%. In this study, the number of nodes will be selected based on Variance-Bias plots by tracking the error on the in-sample data set and the validation data set.

Abstract: End users and consumers of halal industry are facing difficulties in finding verified halal information. This occurred due to information that is stored in silos at every point of activity for every process chain, employing different structures and models, creating an issue of information verification. Integration of multiple information systems generally aims at combining selected systems so that information can be easily retrieved and manage by users. A proposed five components metadata representation development methodology is presented in this paper so that they form a unified new whole and give users the illusion of interacting with one single information system, therefore, data can be represented using the same abstraction principles (unified global data model and unified semantics) without any physical restructuring.

Abstract: The development of market economy has put forward new demands to the logistics. However, the traditional artificial decision has been unable to meet the demand of the market. Under the rapid development of Internet of things and information technology, the application of new technology in logistics vehicle scheduling makes it more reasonable, also, reduce the logistics cost. On the basis of traditional logistics vehicle scheduling process, the paper designs a framework of logistics distribution system from ontology view, combined with the application of ontology and agent in the logistics vehicle scheduling and material scheduling. Then, it sets up the vehicle scheduling system model based on the multi-Agent, to analyse the process of mutual cooperation between agents if they complete the task together. Meanwhile, the paper also establishes a communication mechanism based on the blackboard system, to further analyse the cooperation mechanism between Agents.

Abstract: The amount of products for smart homes and the heterogeneous standards interconnecting them is overwhelming. Consequently, choosing the most suitable technical solution according to the resident’s lifestyle is often confusing. In this paper, we propose an ontology to support the planning process of a scenario based personalized smart home (SH). The way that heterogeneous SH components, e.g. sensors, devices and appliances, are represented by our ontology is described. The design process based on this concept includes an assignment between user-specific scenarios and possible technical solutions. Finally, we show the scenario-based utilization of our approach.

Abstract: The role of systems based on Semantic Web technologies is rising. Today there is a big set of tools to use semantic technologies. However, to date there were no recommendations given about architecture of information systems based on ontologies and Semantic Web technologies. Such architecture is suggested in the article. This architecture is intended for software engineers interested in design and development of such information systems.

Abstract: In this paper, we present a new knowledge push technology for complex mechatronic products design based on ontology and variable precision rough set (VPRS). Ontology can explicitly represent knowledge semantics and let designers exchange knowledge about design and the product development process; while using the knowledge reduction method based on the VPRS method, the design knowledge repository is simplified and design rules also be distilled from the reduct design knowledge repository. On the basis of the above approach, multiple designers can efficiently share design knowledge and can obtain appropriate design knowledge during all design processes. Finally, a case is employed to validate the proposed method of this paper.
