Abstract: Technical progress in production technology, the advancement of ICTs as well as increasing social and economic imbalances and ever-scarce resources ask for new means of value creation. . With the spill over of the highly efficient and innovative open source principles to the world of physical goods and products new modes of value creation appear that put traditional economic strategies and assumptions into question by stressing collaboration instead of competition, knowledge sharing engineering and fostering the empowerment of the people to participate and get engaged.The here presented multidisciplinary OpenLabs concept takes into account these new patterns of value creation based on open source principles and is a suitable approach to increase the overall empowerment and participation in local communities in developing, but also in developed countries.

Abstract: The design and implementation of key technologies for monitoring the operation and maintenance of the information systems in the power companies are analyzed. The IT monitoring techniques based on open architecture are thoroughly investigated. A prototype of the auxiliary systems for monitoring the operation and maintenance of the information system (MOMIS) is proposed. Experiments are carried out to verity its effectiveness. Experimental results show that the proposed system can rapidly locate the faults in the information system and achieve automatic recovery, enabling the operation and maintenance personnel to better manage the information system. Hence, there is a bright prospect of its application.

Abstract: Considering the shortcomings of close car E/E control system, through the analysis of the open system requirements and characteristics of the car E/E control system, an open system structure of the automotive electronic control system based on quantum framework established/E adopts advanced software technology of embedded system. The electronic control clutch design experiments show that the system can get open role use style of the building and system based on this architecture more than a closed system.

Abstract: An open architecture NC system of flame cutting machine applied in auto white-body welding line manufacturing is developed in this paper. The general planning and the composition of the NC system is presented based on IPC and Trio MC206 motion card, the hardware and software of the control system are designed detailedly. IPC management software developed by using C# language in Visual Studio 2008 and rock-bottom control program of Trio control card developed in Motion Perfect2 are realized. The application results show that the NC system of flame cutting machine is reliable and stable which can meet the requirements of auto white-body manufacturing perfectly.

Abstract: In order to meet the requirements of agricultural production automation, a PC-based opening navigation system for agricultural machinery is designed, which is composed of PC, data acquisition cards, electromagnetic induction sensors, high-frequency electromagnetic generator, DC servo motor and mechanical part. The track of the mobile platform is led by a wire with high-frequency currents laid under the field. The position can be determined by a pair of electromagnetic induction sensors installed in the machine. The traveling path is planed by computer according to information of electromagnetic induction sensor and automatic walking of agricultural machinery is achieved. Based on Visual C + + 6.0 platform, a system software is developed and human-computer interface with good interaction is designed. The results show that, straight navigation accuracy is ± 1.5cm within 10m; the navigation accuracy is ± 3cm when the turning radius is 0.5m. Experiments explain that the system owns high real-time performance and dependability, and that it has a good application prospect.

Abstract: This paper presents a proposed system based on LabVIEW for data acquisition and monitoring of manufacturing process in machine tools with CNC. It was applied to evaluate work piece dimension and failure analysis in real time. The proposed system was developed and tested initially in a CNC milling machine with open architecture. Furthermore, it can be extended to other machines and processes, lines or cells of mass production as well. And it was applied in some factories and workshops now.

Abstract: To solve the problems of the control system of the working assistant robot for elderly such as lower efficiency and weak complicity. A kind of open architecture, modularity, extensible embedded robot control system is developed. The main contents include: Studied on a rich hardware interface and drivers, function easy-to-modular extended robot development platform. The paper presented the platform features, design concepts and system solutions of the robot control system and gave details of building approaches of the platform. On this basis, the functional modules of the robot were designed and implemented with the modular design approach. Finally a specified working assistant robot was created by loading the completed modules into the control system platform and some experiments were carried out on the robot system. Experiments results show that the system platform can be a convenient and effective way to develop multi-functional working assistant robot for elderly.

Abstract: In consideration of the shortcoming of the close automotive electronic control system, through the analysis to the requirement of the open system and existing way to establish an open system, an open architecture automotive electronic control system based on quantum frame and SAE J1939 is established adopting the advanced software technology of embedded system. The quantum frame is used as the software bus, the SAE J1939 is used to defined the application information standard. Further more, the hierarchy of the application software, the protocol of each bus and the web structure of the system is proposed.

Abstract: A PROFI-BUS based industrial robot control system is introduced from the viewpoint of both software and hardware. It is discussed about how to use PC technology and field-bus technology to design an open robot control system. The system adopts a three- layer structure, which is mainly configured with universal control devices, to realize a modular and universal design. A high-speed field-bus is designed for connecting servo system and IPC, to ensure real-time capability; another low-speed Field-bus is used to connect IPC and PLC, HMI, teaching panel and other devices for data exchange, while reducing the occupancy of system resources. The software system adopts the modular design with Windows NT and RTX, which fully exploits the powerful functions of Window NT system and meets the requirements of real-time system. This open structure greatly enhances the system's flexibility and openness.
