Abstract: CAE analysis on engine hood is conducted under five common working conditions in this paper. Considering lightweight material application status at present, three material substitution plans are determined. To make full use of material properties, draw up size optimization scheme based on volume target and displacement and frequency constraints. Determine the optimum thickness by conducting size optimization on engine hood with optimization tool-Optistruct, so as to realize lightweight design.Based on the introduction of a evaluation method for lightweight scheme selection based on overall satisfaction and taking the factors of weight, cost and performance into consideration, at last, determine the best lightweight scheme.

Abstract: This paper introduces the topology optimization theory and mathematical model of the variable density method, to use HyerMesh Optistruct module, designs the structure of the transmission shift fork by topological optimization. First establishes the original three-dimensional model of the fork according to the design requirement, then in the HyerMesh establishes the finite element model of the fork, and sets the fork load constraints and the manufacturing process constraints, finally gets a reasonable distribution of materials, uniform force and can be used for manufacturing the ideal topology configuration, and then by the Ossmooth tool obtains directly optimized three-dimensional model. The topological optimization technique, can effectively guides the design personnel of product structure modification and new product structure design, makes product design structure high reliability, economical.

Abstract: The motion of amplification frame of dumper was simulated by multi-body dynamics simulation software ADAMS, and the danger working conditions of amplification frame were calculated. The stress of amplification frame was simulated and analyzed by Optistruct software. The results show that the stress distribution in amplification frame is not uniform and it is big in the middle and small in the edge zeros. The structure of amplification is optimized according to the simulation results. The utilization ratio of the material increases and the cost of production decreases after structural optimization.

Abstract: Using OptiStruct as the tool of optimization, the topology optimization of one special carriage’s square cabin is studied. The methodology of structural topology optimization is present and the key technology is discussed. the weight of the top-placed facility pedestal is set as the optimization objective,and its optimization model is developed. The establishment method of the optimization objective function, design variables and constraint condition are introduced. Through optimization calculation, the result of topology optimization is analyzed. The conclusion provides a significant researching basis for lightening the weight of cab.
