Abstract: The fluctuating load demand with respect to time requires thorough analysis by the energy providers. Nowadays, the utilities need to include emission control during energy dispatch planning. The practically accurate economic dispatch solution is achieved by considering it as a dynamic or time-varying problem. Therefore, this research proposes Fuzzy Combined Economic Load-Emission Dispatch (Fz-CELED) to solve dynamic economic dispatch problem. Fuzzy Logic is used to predict the future load demand and fuel pricing. Moreover, this paper proposed the Differential Evolution Immunized Ant Colony Optimization (DEIANT) technique to optimize Fz-CELED problem. The research was conducted on IEEE 57-Bus Systems. Comparative studies are also conducted among DEIANT, ACO and EP to assess their performance.

Abstract: According to current status Diabetes is the third leading cause of death after cancer and heart diseases. The serious complications of uncontrolled diabetes include kidney damage, eye damage, nerve disease and stroke. Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a common retinal problem associated with diabetes. This paper focuses on Diabetic Retinopathy and finds the exudates parts in the eye by implementing combinations of global optimization techniques such as Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) based on feature extraction. It can also be helpful in improving the performance by accuracy, sensitivity and specificity for detecting the Diabetic Retinopathy when compare to other traditional methods.

Abstract: The Genetic Algorithm (GA) is a stochastic global search method that mimics the metaphor of natural biological evolution. GA operates on a population of potential solutions applying the principle of survival of the fittest to produce (hopefully) better and better approximations to a solution. Genetic algorithms are particularly suitable for solving complex optimization problems and for applications that require adaptive problem solving strategies. Here, in this paper genetic algorithm is introduced as an optimization technique.

Abstract: Based on a large number of actual production data, the paper researches the hydraulic characteristics of high water cut crude oil pipeline in Sabei Oilfield and summarizes change rules of Hydraulic friction coefficient and Reynolds number of high water cut crude oil pipeline under different flow states. After making correction model of Hydraulic friction coefficient at different flow states and using the optimization technique to determine the coefficient in the model, based on C++ builder programming platform developed the software of pipeline hydraulic friction coefficient of correction. The results calculated from the software show that the correction model can significantly reduce the pipeline hydraulic calculation errors which are declined from more than 20% to less than 5%.

Abstract: Coordination on load tap changers (OLTCs) voltage and reactive power compensators in area transmission power system is presented to improve efficiency and voltage variation using a novel optimum procedure technique. The novel optimum technique procedure used hybrid differential evolution (HDE) to coordinate the OLTCs setting and reactive power compensation for reducing line losses and voltage change rate. The objection function is selected total line loss under the limited range of OLTCs setting and reactive power compensation. The proposal design method is used to IEEE-30BUS power system to demonstrate the useful method. The result exhibits to less line losses and a little voltage variation.

Abstract: Treatment selection techniques used in Pavement Management Systems often rely on predefined priorities outlined by state road agency which are subject to priority and engineering judgement. These techniques can be implemented over multi-period planning horizons however doesnt necessarily provide the best possible works program. This paper presents an overview of Pavement Management Systems, then describes and analyses the four main categories of treatment selection techniques employed within these systems. An overview of the Pavement Management System implemented by the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads and in particular its process of treatment selection is outlined. In addition a comparative analysis is then undertaken with each of these treatment selection categories.

Abstract: The objective of this research is to investigate the effect of various parameters on rapid prototyping parts during the process of sintering metal powder by using fiber laser. In order to minimize the percentage of porosities of rapid prototyping (RP) products, sintering a mixture of three metallic powders are investigated. Three metallic powders which are used in this research are Cooper, Iron and Nickel (particle size of Cooper is 5μm, Iron is 70μm and Nickel is 70μm). In addition, control factors and their alternate levels-two levels with 48 run experiments will be identified. The Design of Experiment (DOE) and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) are used to analyze the results of modeling process. After the ANOVA, a regression model predicting percentages of porosities under various conditions was developed when the traditional Taguchis approach failed to identify a feasible model due to strong interactions of controlled factors.

Abstract: Abstract:With the complexity of network structure and the network expanded rapidly, AS-level network macroscopic topology measurements will be more and more important in the network studies. If we can catch a network macroscopic topology which is more close to the actual world, it will help researchers explore the inherent laws of network structure and the relationships between network structure and political, and economic in the real world, it also useful for network providers to prediction of network problems and improve the network environment more accurate and timely. Our paper puts forward method that combined BGP routing table with traceroute measurement and use the given BGP data to predict the result of traceroute measure, and change the sequence of measurement target, so as to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the traceroute measurements result.

Abstract: Based on the improved genetic algorithm method, a kind of the optimization techniques to solve the problem about the ship cabin layout is presented. The problem about the ship cabin layout is a NP-hard problem. This article has used the genetic algorithm method to solve it .However, for the simple and easy procedure, the basic genetic algorithm is slow and easy to fall into a local optimal solution. Therefore, it must be improved. This article has made the following two improvements: on the one hand using the niche method to solve the multi- peak problem; on the other hand using the climbing method to solve the slow and premature convergence. The simulation tests show that this approach proposed by authors is feasible and valid and the result is satisfied.

Abstract: Abstract. In this contribution we are dealing with simulation techniques for efficient use of computing of the schedule of the process of maintenance and renewal. Maintenance and renewal process is modelled on the basis of Petri nets. Thanks to this approach we can simulate the process of improving the maintenance in order to optimize key criteria of renewal and maintenance. The proposed solution is demonstrated on two illustrative examples.
