Abstract: The paper aims to provide a theoretical method of multi-parameter optimization collocation for sealing structure design. Based on the tightness analysis method, the paper analyzed the effects of several major influence factors on the maximal gasket contact stress. Some sensitive parameters were chosen according to the tightness analysis results. Orthogonal experiment method was applied in the current work to find the optimum combination of parameters which will contribute to a better sealing performance of the connections. The theoretical way proposed in this paper can effectively shorten the design period and is helpful to improve the quality of the design and reduce the design cost.

Abstract: A methodology to design optimal forming process and relative parameters of the automobile front panel reinforcing plate, using the numerical simulation technology of forming sheet metal, is investigated. The digital model of the complex automobile part is established by computer aided design software. Dynaform software is used to simulate its forming process to acquire the feasible process parameters affecting its formability. Forming limit diagram and thickness distribution diagram are used to evaluate the simulation results of different process schemes. The orthogonal experiment method is adopted to design and simulate the process parameters to find out the optimum values for die design. The reasonable process design and optimum values of fillet radius of female die, friction coefficient and blank-holder force are obtained, which can reduce the tendencies of wrinkling, crackling and thickness reduction, and achieve sufficient plastic deformation of blank.

Abstract: A radiator is one of the most important components in vehicular cooling system whose excellent fluid flow and heat transfer characteristics guarantees the engine operations. The calculation workload for performance simulation of a whole radiator is too huge due to its size. Experimental study is the conventional method to study radiator performance. This paper put forward a numerical simulation method and radiator heat transfer units were taken as study objects. Orthogonal experiment method was adopted to arrange multi-factor and multi-level calculation schemes. 23 samples with different fin parameters were simulated to investigate their thermal-hydraulic performances. Compared with experimental testing, this method greatly reduced sample manufacturing cost and testing cost, and offered data support for the effect factor study of radiator heat transfer units.

Abstract: A synthetic evaluation study on AC (Air Conditioning) Systems within office and business building is made by using DeST (Building Environment Design Simulation Toolkit) software (Developed by QingHua University ) and orthogonal experiment method. Many useful analysis results of the AC systems can be obtained such as the year electricity consumption, the year gas consumption, the year consumption amount of “Primary Energy”, the year average COP, the year average load ratio, the discharge amount of sensible heat to outdoor atmosphere in summer, and the year discharge amount of some main “Green House Effect” gases(CO2, SOx, NOx due to “Primary Energy” consumption) to outdoor atmosphere. Both of energy consumption characteristics and environmental effect of air conditioning systems, and their relationship with variety of parameters of architectural structure and type can be well known. All results we made are helpful to get guidance on the equipment selection, helpful to the operational mode selection of air-conditioning systems and the parameter selection of the architectural structure and type.

Abstract: General heat exchange efficiency is one of important economic indicators for the evaluation of the air washer. Based on the amount of test data analyzed by an orthogonal experiment method, this efficiency is mainly affected by the following factors in the air washer of the target-type nozzle namely air mass flow rate, water pressure, nozzle aperture, nozzle spacing, and obtains the optimal combination scheme of the four factors. Orthogonal test methods which had been verified by multiple regression equation has high reliability(R>0.9)and good prediction for the level of significance of various factors.

Abstract: Casting process of the gearbox shell of a drill is simulated based on different technological conditions by analysis software ProCAST and orthogonal experiment method. The optimizing target is the shrinkage. It can be concluded that the factors that affect shrinkage are casting temperature, casting velocity, mold initial temperature and the cross-sectional area of inner gate in the gating system. Through analyzing the diagram of factor levels influent trend which is described according the last simulated results, the most optimized process parameters scheme is got, and the process scheme is simulated.

Abstract: The wear-resisting property and hardness of arc-sprayed coatings is affected by spraying parameters, such as compressed air pressure, spraying current, spraying distance and wire feeding speed. In this paper, the four factors orthogonal experiment method was applied to optimize those four parameters. T12 high-carbon steel wire and SCDP-3 spray gun were used in the experiment. SKODA-Savin plunge wear test machine and the HB3000 Brinell hardness tester were used to measure the wear resistance and hardness of the coating. Based on the analyses of experimental data, the relationship curves of four factors versus the wear resistance and hardness were set up separately. The variance analysis of data shows that the gas pressure and spraying distance have the most significant effect on the wear resistance, wire feeding speed has the effect on the wear resistance, and the spraying current has less effect on the wear resistance. Four factors significantly affect the coating hardness, however the compressed air pressure has the greatest effect on the coating hardness. By the optimization analysis, the optimum parameters are obtained.
