Abstract: Because fruit state need to be discriminate to select the different harvesting method before it is fast picked, the fruit state discrimination method was developed. Firstly, the two apple images were acquired, and then segmented by the improved OTSU dynamic threshold segmentation method. Secondly, the picking target fruit was selected based on the principle of the nearest distance to image center when there were a lot of fruits. Thirdly, the two segmented fruit images were done by the inter-frame difference method, then the target fruit state was got using the connection number discrimination to the difference image and the centroid coordinates matching discrimination to the oscillating fruit image. Lastly, the test results showed that the designed algorithm was feasible and effective for most cases in natural environment, and the discrimination time was less than 0.2s.

Abstract: To make further researches into the elastohydrodynamic lubrication properties of a finite line contact roller, oscillating experiments were carried out on made overload experimental rig for oil film measurement using optical interference technique. Film thickness and shape were measured in two kinds of viscosity polyisobutylene. This study indicates that both lubricant viscosity and roller entrainment velocity play an important role on EHL of finite line contacts. On motion, the more increase in viscosity or speed, the thicker the oil film thickness, simultaneity edge effect is distinctly intensified and film thickness increases less on roller end, difference of the film thickness is increased between roller end and the central. Above two parameters are significant for logarithmic profile roller in crowning design.

Abstract: In die-sinking EDM, the electrode is moved only in the Z-axis direction, while in oscillating EDM, electrodes are oscillated in both the X-axis and Y-axis directions to realize high accuracy machining. There are many ways of designing electrodes for oscillating EDM. However, because the form of electrodes and subsequently the oscillating patterns of these electrodes depend on the shapes of the die/mold used, they become complicated when the die/mold shape is complicated, and electrode design takes hours in such cases. This paper therefore proposes a new approach of designing electrodes for oscillating EDM. Some oscillating patterns based on the proposed approach are also analyzed from the viewpoint of usefulness.
