Abstract: The subject of the paper is the presentation of the case-study of the company outsourcing the spare parts stock. As the result of the changes in the agreement between the outsourcer and the large commissioning company, the task of the outsourcing company was to standardize the margin for the individual groups of products, so far highly diversified. The research problem was to analyze the development of margins using CVA (Cash Value Added) analysis and to establish such a level of the above which will satisfy the client’s requirements and provide further employment and generating profit for the outsourcing company.

Abstract: With the using of power system communication and information technology more widely, operation and maintenance services to support integrated, large-scale, professional management presented a greater challenge, how to find a better balance point in their operation and maintenance and service outsourcing will be the key issue. Conducted from IT Operation Outsourcing Management Development profiles, patterns, application scenarios and trends multi-dimensional studies, and in-depth analysis of the power system operation and maintenance outsourcing management characteristics, laid the theoretical foundation for the future development of the operation and maintenance of communication and information systems outsourcing management.

Abstract: Aiming at the problems including the weakness of coordination and controllability in the process of outsourcing between small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises, a conception of virtual workshop section (VWS) is put forward, the chief objectives of which are effectively control and optimize the allocation of resources, and a networked outsourcing management mode is established based on the VWS. According to this mode, a networked production management system for outsourcing (NPMSO) is put forward and the architecture, the running process included in the system are analyzed. At last, The system is successfully applied in a medium-sized motorcycle parts manufacturer, and good results are obtained.

Abstract: The purpose of our research is to develop a decision-making model for manufacturing and remanufacturing hybrid system with the goal of maximizing corporate profit. Under a random market environment, we assumed that the remanufacturing operation was outsourced and both the manufacturing process and remanufacturing process had capacity constraints. By analyzing the relations between manufacturing/remanufacturing production batch sizes and inventory level, we established a multi-period capacitated manufacturing/remanufacturing hybrid decision-making model. A heuristic genetic algorithm was designed and a numerical example demonstrated the validity of the model and the algorithm. We conclude that the manufacturing/remanufacturing quantities decision is affected by both market parameters and capacity limitations. This study is useful for manufacturers to make strategy and plan in manufacturing/remanufacturing operations.

Abstract: With the development of the economy and society, more and more enterprises outsource the procuring of services or products from an outside supplier or manufacturer in order to cut costs. To realize outsourcing, the outsourcing needer must choose the supplier carefully, so the method that how to choose the right supplier to realize the outsourcing is particularly important. Lots of factors should be taken into account, but the common factors are cost, quality, additional resources, prior works and contract terms. With the qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis method of analytic hierarchy process, put forward the model of the outsourcing. The model includes three aspects: objective layer, criterion layer and alternative layer. The objective layer is the aim of select supplier; the criterion layer is the factors which affect the choice and the alternative layer is the different selectable enterprise. After calculating the synthetic level value to order in single level and whole system and though the consistency check, eventually got the different weights of different alternations, it can provides direct basis for the decision-making, that is, the enterprise which has the biggest weight of the choice should be placed ahead of the others.

Abstract: The object of this research paper is to examine the concepts of outsourcing and insourcing and their application in the high technology systems sector in a maritime company. When a company chooses to outsource the high technologies sector to an external collaborator, it needs to have the ability to specify to the service provider the required services, in order to obtain the best possible result. On the other hand, when the maritime company decides to provide the required services, it needs to have the ability to adapt its services according to the fast pace of high technology.

Abstract: This study aims to examine the application of the outsourcing concept [1], in the field of information systems in maritime companies. With the contribution of personal experience and knowledge of the authors, but also the extensive qualitative research that was carried out, one of the areas of activity of a maritime company outsourced to external collaborators is that of information systems. The lightning-fast pace at which technology and information systems are advancing, has forced maritime companies to outsource the information technology sector to external collaborators, who have the knowledge and the resources.

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to develop a communication management plan concerning the implementation of a project with external expert as the team leader collaborating with the top management in laboratory research (hi-technological, financial, societal, political). The challenge of the paper is to combine through the communication process aspect the external project manager’s challenges with the interests and the expectations of the top organizational management of a hi-technological laboratory.

Abstract: The valuation of options is an important research topic of modern options pricing theories. In this paper, an outsourcing decision model is built based on options valuation theory. We classified the cost of outsourcing into three independent spheres including strategic, managing, and executive. Then, we quantified these notional costs by the means of options valuation. Furthermore, we get the boundary qualification of outsourcing in the framework of “cost-benefit” by comparing outsourcing’s general cost with its benefit on the point of numerical cost of risk. A numerical example is given to illustrate the feasibility of the decision-making model.

Abstract: FIRE has been incorporated as a non-profit organization in Canada, in May 2005. It is by now a network of professors, researchers and industrial partners, representing eight different universities spread in six different nations and eleven multinational companies, who have gathered, to undertake well-defined precompetitive research projects, and to train highly-qualified personnel for the industry. The evolution of the refractory education arena, in an economically globalized world, caught in a maelstrom of technical changes, is presented. The changes of paradigm from the “information age society” to the “crowdsourcing” in background, the FIRE realization are highlighted in such a context of “conceptual age society” are considered, with the concept of “coopetition”.
