Abstract: In this study, High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), combined with Triple Quadruple mass Spectrometry (QQQ) were developed and applied in the analysis of 16 phthalic acid esters (PAEs) in the common drinking water. Qualitative and quantitative analysis were carried out by Multiple Reaction Monitoring (MRM). The method, combined with Solid Phase Extraction, was established to detect the PAEs in drinking water. As showed by the results, 16 PAEs had a good linearity in the range of 1.14~101.4μg/L, with correlation coefficient between 0.996~0.999. The mean recoveries were in the range of 87.53~131.37%, with the relative standard deviation be 0.71~5.09%. The limit of quantification (LOQ) of 16 PAEs were between 1.14~32.51μg/L, with the limit of detection (LOD) be 0.34~10.67μg/L. There were five PAEs which were detected in the range of <1.7~17.2μg/L in bottled water. Some products have some PAEs which havent been shown in the national or the international standard of the drinking water.

Abstract: A method for the detection of PAEs (16 kinds ) in the childrens products using ultrasonic extraction and gas chromatography were investigated in this study. The method was linear between 0.500 and 10.000 μg ml-1, R2 between 0.995 and 0.999, LOQ between 0.704 and 1.585 μg ml-1. The method repeatability was between 1.2% and 13% RSD. The experiment results showed that the children's products samples containing different kinds of PAEs. DIBP and DCHP were frequency found in all sample. The PAEs concentration of the childrens products sample was between 0.019 and 6.301 μg ml-1.

Abstract: The degradation of PAEs (DMP, DEP and DBP) at low concentration (μg·L-1 range) by the O3 oxidation and H2O2/O3 oxidation process were investigated in this study. The experiment results showed that the H2O2/O3 ratio was 2.0, the pH value was 10, the PAEs removal rates were 90%~95% in model wastewater, and were over 70% in the tail water from municipal sewage plant with the H2O2/O3 oxidation process.

Abstract: Phthalic acid esters (PAEs) is a kind of very important organic chemical product, mainly used as plasticizer and softener for polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and other rubber and plastic materials in industry. However, PAEs also is a common organic pollutant and extensively exists in atmosphere, water, soil, biology and food. And by a variety of ways enter into human body and have potential harm to human health, or even endanger people’s life. Therefore, government should work out the relevant laws and regulations, research the new non-toxic and environmental friendly plasticizer, and take prevention and restoration measures to protect the ecological environment and people’s health.

Abstract: The adsorption of PAEs from aqueous using natural zeolite and CTMAB zeolite was investigated by a batch technique under ambient conditions. Natural zeolite adsorption data were best-fitted to Langmuir and Freundlich equations, while CTMAB adsorption data were best-fitted to Linear equations. The results suggest that the adsorption on CTMAB zeolite involves adsorption process and distribution role and zeolites performs well as reusable materials for adsorption.
