Abstract: This paper discussed on design and development of fire warning system using automated remote messaging method. This device enables to alert the owner whenever fire occur that need rapid attention towards the building. This is maybe due to carelessness of user or gas leakage. Fire warning system is an existing project but it will be enhanced. This project discussed the design and implementation of a fire alarm system using the microcontroller which controlled the entire system. This system comprised of smoke detector that linked to PIC and GSM Modem. When smoke detected, the fire alarm will triggered and send a signal to the PIC. The PIC will process the data and transmit the signal to the GSM modem. The GSM modem will send message to alert the building owner. The owner can make further action by informing the nearest fire department. This module is applied for transferring of GSM SMS message to the owner mobile number. The devices can be the early and fast prevention system for building owner.

Abstract: The objective of this work is designed and fabricated a lab module tester to differentiate the different type of printing paper quality which available commercially was done. Laser light source was used to differentiate the quality of printing paper. The concept light reflectance on surface material was used in this study. The photodiode was used as photo detector to detect the reflected light from the surface of printing paper. The laser diode and photodiode were placed in a box which the box named light box. The laser was used to emit light on the sample and the photodiode detects light intensity from the surface printing paper in the light box. Different level of intensity will have different value of voltage output. The differentiation on the different type of printing paper including of 70 g/m2, 80 g/m2 and 100 g/m2 were done respectively. The result showed that the 100 g/m2 printing paper has a higher reflected voltage output compared to 80 g/m2 and 70 g/m2 printing paper.

Abstract: This paper proposes a hardware implementation of a resonant boost converter with photovoltaic system. The converter finds varied advantages like lower switching losses and increased efficiency. With the increased rate of energy crisis, the converter has paved a new way for solving the problem, in the recent years. The dc voltage source of the resonant boost converter is replaced by a photovoltaic system that energizes the converter. The renewable energy minimizes the fuel cost and highly decreases the maintenance cost. A PIC microcontroller is used to generate the pulses of the transistor switches in the boost converter and for the inverter circuit. Implementation of a low cost 16F877A microcontroller with a resonant boost photo voltaic system with higher efficiency and the experimental results has been tabulated. The performance of the circuit has been verified at different temperatures for different applications.

Abstract: In order to achieve the precise control of the compressed air foam proportioning on the fire engines, in this paper, the PIC microcontroller and the fuzzy control algorithm are used to design the microcontroller-based foam proportioning hybrid fuzzy control system. Taking into account the system cost and ease, we use the software to implement the fuzzy control of DC motor. The controller learns from the experience of skilled operators, and forms fuzzy control rules, finally we identify a number of important control parameters in this paper. The experimental results show that the fuzzy control system can achieve precise control of the mixing ratio

Abstract: As an important factor in composite fiber winding, fiber winding tension influences the
product quality directly, and therefore tension control is a key technique in fiber winding techniques.
This paper introduces a closed loop tension control system with the PIC single chip computer as the
kernel, a function module with TLC5615 D/A converter as the output, AC servomotors as the
actuator, and a radius-following arm to measure the real time radius of the scroll. The mechanism of
the tension control system is analyzed and the mathematical model is set up. Then the paper expatiates
the design of main control circuit, the voltage transformation circuit and the analogy filter circuit. In
addition, the paper presents digital filter and control algorithm of the PIC software. The system is
proved to have high control precision and rapid time response through performance experiments of
the tension control system in different working states, which well meets the anticipated design
requirements.
