Abstract: The development of data acquisition system for operation of the Kartini reactor was carried out by using a programable-logic controller (PLC) and based on the recommendation of an expert team of the International Atomic Energy Agency which justifies that the previous data acquisition system of the reactor operation has been considered obsolete. This research purpose is to follow up the recommendation by using a recent technology of PLC as the basis of the system. The parameter acquisition method was done by acquiring the analogue and digital voltage signals by the PLC and processing them into values accordingly. Analogue parameters: linear power, logarithmic power percent, period, and three control bars, Digital parameters: trigger trip signals. Parameter values are visually displayed using LabVIEW. The test method was comparing the obtained values to the current monitoring subsystem. Test results: linear power error is 0.09%; period error is 0.8%; and error of the three control rods is below 1%. All digital signal test results successfully show appropriate trip conditions when active. The conclusion of this study is successful in making a design of the Kartini Reactor process parameter acquisition system with small relative errors to the existing system.

Abstract: Industrial monitoring and control systems, using PLC and SCADA, provide us with real-time information about the performance of each machine and process. This monitoring system allows us to continuously monitor and control its operations. The application of SCADA systems in the automotive manufacturing industry is the first step towards the Industrial Revolution 4.0 based on machine learning and artificial intelligence. There is a problem with recording production results in one area of the automotive industry. When carrying out the recording process, the manual processes are still used and production timeline stop problems are not well controlled, resulting in inefficient time consumption. Next, research and improvement were carried out by creating a production monitoring system (PMS) that could be used to monitor production results in that area. This research was developed with the integration of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) control, SCADA software, and database software. In this case, we designed the Mitsubishi PLC program, created the programming, displayed it with the CIMON SCADA application, and created the database system. This system has been proven to make it easier for the production team to monitor production quantities, monitor production line stops, and increase production efficiency.

Abstract: Productivity is an important parameter for all small and medium scale manufacturing industries. Lean manufacturing emerged as production strategy capable of increasing productivity by identifying and eliminating non value added activities. This article deals with productivity improvement in a pre-assembly line of gearbox manufacturing company with a case study using lean concepts like process flow chart, process Gantt chart and time study. This paper illustrates using a case study on how a value stream mapping has to be carried out in a planet carrier pre-assembly line. Value stream mapping and work standardization are the key tools used in lean manufacturing and lean transformation. It makes the process smoother, helps in reduction of lead time and ultimately increasing the productivity. From the observed results it was found that, the productivity has been increased from 7 pieces to 10 pieces in the first step assembly when the proposed VSM was implemented. The second step processing time was reduced by the execution of proposed value stream mapping with TAKT time of 126 minutes and 165 minutes of processing time for demand of 10 pieces were achieved and the overall processing time has been reduced by about 24%.

Abstract: Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) is widely used to control systems on the manufacturing industry, automotive industry and etc. PLC is used to regulate the production process and machine systems to work simultaneously and continue. PLC has system to regulate the movement of machine components, displacement system of product, system settings motion or displacement of other components. PLC is a control system with some advantages such as simple in design, easy to use and circuit modification, low cost, easy maintenance, high reliability and safe. In this paper, we will focus on the PLC that used in the control of equipment movement on the rotary dryer system for waste liquid processing. PLC will be control the movement of the motor for drum of dryer, heating system, water circulation in the wet scrubber system, vacuum cleaner and smoke systems. All these systems are connected by PLC and working by arranged the setting time of system. The first process, PLC will activate the motion system of motor to drive the dryer drum rotating to left or right side. Then the burner is active for heating the drum of dryer. Effect in this process made smoke and dust happen in the rotary dryer system. The pump automatically will be activating to spray water on a wet scrubber system to catch the dust and smoke. Dust and smoke will be inhaled by the blower and flow back into the rotary dryer machine. Therefore there is no smoke and dust flowing into the environment. The results show that the PLC can be control the motion system and processes machine rotary dryer to drying the waste liquid in short time. Such as 20 minutes to 5 liters of liquid waste volume and 30 minutes to 15 liters and made the waste liquid be friendly environment.

Abstract: The high-speed pulse outputs of PLC can control motion of stepper motor or servo motor. So PLC can complete interpolation function which CNC can do using a kind of simple algorithm. What’s more, the PLC can be developed to be a controller of economical CNC machine tools. Based on the experiment platform of modern robot industrial, the paper introduced how to control the motion of servo system by PLC in detail, and completed the two-dimensional interpolation program through PLC using the direct target tracking as interpolation algorithm. The direct target tracking algorithm could form a series of micro straight line segments approach the desired interpolation trajectory through directly calculating a series of minimum interval points on the interpolation line and connecting these points end to end. Compared to the single pulse interpolation, the direct target tracking algorithm simplified interpolation algorithm and adapted to the PLC program, so it is suitable to economical CNC system. By programming and running in the experimental platform, it can achieve better results using the direct target tracking method as interpolation procedures.

Abstract: In this paper, an electric transmission communication system of micro-V-groove ultra-precision CNC machine with the Mitsubishi PLC is designed. Different from the traditional method using the RS232-BD board, which has to communicate with PLC by programming offline, the system we design connects PC and PLC more directly and is more suitable for micro-V-groove ultra-precision CNC machine tool because of its real time. Embed the communication system in the CNC system, all the external devices can be monitored real-timely and the machine has run successfully.

Abstract: Programmable Logic Controllers are important part of automation, performed in computer technology. They are applied in many areas of technology. The aim of this study is to present the drilling process of discs on the test rig prepared for the use in industrial conditions. S7-200 controller with operator panel TD200 has been applied to conduct the technological process, and programme STEP was used to support particular commands. It has been shown that the correct operation of the drilling process is dependent on the optimal design of the technological process. The algorithm depends on the programming language dedicated to the controller. The optimal operation of the controller is dependent on the number of input circuits gathering information on the object status and on the appropriate number and type of output devices connected to the actuators, and to the signalling or data transmission elements.
