Abstract: Based on the matrix keyboard with PMAC motion controller built-in PLC design program, the program is used for control of machine tool control panel. In a quick feed ratio knob button as an example, the key code is given. Compiled by the control program is simple, has the versatility and portability, great savings with PMAC motion controller I/O points, reduce the cost, and application in VNCZT - 545 machining center.

Abstract: In recent years, pulsed laser processing technology is widely used in MEMS device manufacturing, aerospace technology, precision instrument manufacturing and circuit board processing. According to the characteristics of nanosecond laser, this paper designs a novel nanosecond pulsed laser micromachining system with PMAC card as its core unit. The system can achieve automation control of laser parameters and movement pattern of motion system by software, which can easily realize automatic processing of point, line, and plane structure in micron scale. In this paper, several groups of experiments are taken to test the reliability and accuracy of the machining system and find the group to obtain the best processing result.

Abstract: The open, intelligent and integrated CNC systems have been increasingly demanded with the development of manufacturing. In this paper, derived from requirements analysis, the architecture for a novel open, intelligent and integrated CNC system based on STEP-NC and PMAC is proposed. In the architecture, STEP AP-238 is selected as the NC data, which meets the requirements of the openness of NC data. Then, the open master-slave hardware structure based on IPC+PMAC with double CPUs is designed, which meets the requirements of the flexible hardware. Also, the open and modular software structure is designed, which meets the intelligent function requirements. In addition, the work flow of the CNC system is discussed. It turns out that the architecture presented provides a feasible solution to implement the open, intelligent and integrated CNC system.

Abstract: This paper establishes a system that can automatically generate CNC code based on readable image formats such as *. jpg, *. gif, *. bmp, *. pcd, *. tif, and make use of machine tool for CNC machining. This system first vectorizes an image by using preprocessing such as smooth processing, edge detection, and contour tracking, and converts it into CNC code, then generates a program that can be identified by PMAC, and drives machine tool to process CNC machining. At last, an example proves the validity of this method.

Abstract: Based on the research of key technologies for achieving micro EDM process, a triaxialmicro EDM machine tool based on PMAC has been developed. The micro EDM machining tool consists of four parts: triaxial precision motion platform, motion control system, micro-energy pulse generator and CCD microscope imaging system. The hardware and software control system based on industrial control computer and PMAC has been researched. The motion control program and PLC program have been developed for precise controlling the triaxial precision motion platform. The indispensable functions for micro EDM process such as contact perception function for measurement; fast servo control strategy for short circuit and so on has been achieved. Through a number of processing tests, it is proved that the triaxial micro EDM machine tool has the ability for machining micro holes, micro slots and micro structures steadily.

Abstract: Control system is the key factor for performance of digital forming machine. To meet different needs, an open NC system structure is proposed based on PMAC. Selection of servo motor is analyzed, and hardware of control system is established. Software composed of multiple modules is developed with VC++, and also communication between PC and PMAC is realized. Furthermore, a method to optimize manufacturing process and interpolation path is presented according to characteristics of lost foam machining. Simulation and experiment are carried out, and the results confirm that the control system is excellent.

Abstract: In order to meet the requirements raised by the surface strengthening and rolling technology of torsion shafts on heavy-duty armored vehicles, an open CNC system, based on PMAC, is developed. The paper covers a detailed description of its hardware and software. Experiments show that the introduction of rolling shafts processed by CNC rolling machines not only improves the surface roughness and abrasion resistance, but also raises endurance strength and production efficiency.
