Abstract: The paper aims to explore how organizations in the transition phase of co-location to multi-locations production environment applied Robust Design approach to accommodate the complexity of manufacturing and assembly operation in multi-location production environment. By using a single case study method on a home appliances Research and Development (R&D) Company, this paper examines the detail of design and operational transformations within the organization at pre and post implementation stage of Robust Design. The paper starts with enlightenment of issues faced by the company that drove the move to explore the application of Robust Design, follows by illustrations on how Robust Design concept is re-configured and executed across the product design process within the company. The paper subsequently reviews operational impact driven by the implementation of Robust Design, this is followed by discussion and recommendation for improvement. Result from the case study suggested that top management commitment is the key success factor for the implementation of Robust Design in Research and Development firm. In addition, the case study offers an alternative and effective approach to develop a robust system within design and development environment.

Abstract: The problems of the multifunction sensors development make inefficient of design traditional methods application. Work purpose is an effective approach creation to the analysis and synthesis of sensors physical functional principle and creation on its basis mathematical, algorithmic and informational software for multifunction quantity sensors conceptual design automation. Authors propose the problem solution method based on fractal approach application to the theory of energy and information circuit models. For this purpose the physical functional principle sensor modeling fractal concept and mechanisms of its realization are created. This work results are new computer technique, software for the automatic synthesis of the multifunction sensors physical functional principle and two new multifunction sensors utility models automatically generated by developed software.

Abstract: Though the Support Vector Regression Machines (SVRM) is considered to be an effective method for time series prediction, its performance is greatly influenced by its parameters. In order to improve the rationality of parameter setting, the influences of the parameters (the number of support vectors NS and the prediction length NE) and signal characteristics on the SVRM performance were discussed. The results proved that the existence of confliction between prediction accuracy and prediction efficiency, and SVRM may inappropriate to long-term prediction, and NS should be greater than a threshold which depends on the signal characteristics for an accurate prediction result. The research results may provide a theoretical basis for the improvments of SVRM algorithm.

Abstract: The mechanical arm is a multi-input multi-output, highly non-linear, strong coupling complex system. Active Disturbance Rejection Controller is of good performance and relatively simple algorithm. Artificial Bee Colony algorithm is a new swarm intelligence algorithm based on the behavior of honey bees. The linear ADRC was adopted to realize the moving control of the mechanical arm and the controller parameters were chosen and optimized by ABC algorithm. Simulation results are satisfied and well prove the feasibility and validity of the algorithm.

Abstract: The Smart Grid is the development trend of grid technology. For guiding the construction of smart grid scientifically, quantitative evaluation for the level of technology maturity of the Smart Grid construction is necessary. The evaluation results can be used for determining the stage of the current construction of Smart Grid and summarizing the problems which came up during the process of construction, also finding the gap between current satiation and individual goals to determine the direction and key job in next step. This paper take the characteristics and goals of domestic Smart Grid into account, build a maturity evaluation model which assess the smart grid maturity in three dimensionstime, production processes and technical features separately. By setting the primary and secondary parameter the model can be used for smart grid assessment in any time, scenes and region. The model make a comprehensive coverage of various aspects in the smart grid construction process and the results of evaluation can be analyzed from different dimension to find the short slab to guide the work in next step.

Abstract: In the modern urban bridge projects, especially the urban interchange projects and the urban viaduct projects, the long-span curved bridge with the small radius is often inevitably used, considering the transportation under bridges, pipelines and aesthetic factors. This kind of long-span curved bridge with small radius was adopted on the south of Second Ring Road in Chendu of the project of "Two Expressways,Two Extended Roads,Two Ring Roads".The influence, which the change of the parameters on the structure had,was analyzed by using the finite element software of Midas Civil 2010.Then,the parameter which had greatest impact on the inner force of the structure was found. The girder depth is the key parameter in design.

Abstract: Hyperpaths enumeration is one of the basic procedures in many traffic planning issues. As a result of its distinctive structure, hyperpaths in Urban Rail Transit Network (URTN) are different from those in road network. Typically, one may never visit a station more than once and would never transfer from one line to another that has been visited in a loopless URTN, meaning that stations a hyperpath traversed cannot be repeated, neither do lines in loopless networks. This paper studies the relationships between feasible path and the shortest path in terms of travel costs. In this paper, a new definition of hyperpath in URTN is proposed and a new algorithm based on the breadth first searching (BFS) method is presented to enumerate the hyperpaths. The algorithm can safely avoid hyperpath omission and can even be applied in networks containing loops as well. The influence of parameters on hyperpaths is studied by experimentally finding hyperpaths in the subway network in Beijing. A group of suggested parameter pairs are then given. Finally, a numerical experiment is used to illustrate the validity of the proposed algorithm. The results imply the significance of the convergence of the BFS algorithm which can be used to search hyperpaths in large scale URTN even with loop.

Abstract: For soft threshold function are likely to cause a constant deviation with the original signal, hard threshold function can not fully remove noise and the selection of semi threshold function parameters is complex, we presented a critical threshold function, and analyzed the parameter selection for the new threshold. The simulation experiments prove that the denoising of critical threshold method is much better, and it also can make up for the deficiencies of traditional threshold.

Abstract: Fabrication of nanofibers using electrospinning has recently attracted much attention for various applications due to its simplicity. Electrospinning has the ability to produce nanofibers within 100-500 nm. Some applications require certain fiber diameter. As a relatively new process, there are many electrospinning parameters that are believed to influence the nanofibers diameter. The purpose of this review is to identify and discuss the effect of some of those parameters, i.e. concentration, spinning distance, and applied voltage, and volume flow rate, to the nanofiber diameter during electrospinning process. It was concluded that fiber volume flow rate is proportional to fiber diameter while there is no agreement in reports on other parameters.

Abstract: Sustainability assessment has received increasing attention in academic, industry and government over the past decades. There are varieties of sustainability assessment has been developed in difference methodology and it is application. In this paper, sustainability assessment using indicators has been introduced for hollow fiber membrane module life cycle. In addition, this paper discussing the determination of proper parameters involved in developing methodology for assessing its sustainability. In order to balancing the sustainability, 3D of sustainability aspect will be considered; environmental, economical and social.
