Abstract: Many companies use Computer-Aided Design & Drafting (CADD) systems to create design drawings. Using CADD design as a replacement of the manual drafting method is only a fraction of its potential. The work that is done repeatedly can be in most cases performed automatically through customization. Customization of standard CAD packages can significantly increase productivity. The custom functions and programs can extend the capabilities of CAD packages to perform a wide range of drafting tasks. The paper discusses a customization strategy intended to facilitate completion of some repetitive drafting tasks in mechanical drafting process. One way to extend the capabilities of AutoCAD is by creating and using blocks. Blocks are useful for creating repeated content, such as standard components. The Dynamic Blocks feature enables user to modify blocks by adding parameters, actions, constraints that increase the versatility and power of the blocks. The paper presents two examples in creating and using dynamic blocks in order to save time and get maximum benefits of AutoCAD features. The first example shows a way to manage bolted joints drawing process by defining parameters and actions to the joint standard components. The second one presents a way to define and use a dynamic block with parametric design for radial ball bearings. The customization approach presented, developed for basic AutoCAD package, is intended for automating quite common tasks in mechanical design drafting. The major advantage of customization is the significant increase of drafting productivity.

Abstract: Using LISP language embed in AutoCAD, the parametric drawing design for expanded view of the transformer elevated seat is discussed. The mathematical model is constructed and gotten solution with parameters comes from dialog built by OpenDCL. Weld is put to the position not easy to see. It is to increase the efficiency of design the expanded view of the transformer elevated seat. This method is worth widely spreading.

Abstract: This article introduces parameterized drawing technology on complete film evaporators by the classification of parameterized drawing strategy. And by sample of film evaporators parts graph drawing process, parametric parts prints and the assembly drawing strategy in detail. Development of aided design software of film evaporators would help users realize integration design of process design, and can greatly shorten the development cycle of the products, improve the design quality and enhance the competitiveness of their products.

Abstract: This article analyzes the NGW type planetary gear transmission mechanism and structure, establishes boundary constraint conditions and mathematics optimization model in view of the smallest volume's project objective. It can realize the NGW type planetary gear transmission optimization design through compiling corresponding computer program, obtain the optimization design parameters. In optimization design's foundation, it applies the CAD technology to establish drawing program, realizes the parametric drawing.

Abstract: In the optimal design of large prestressed aqueduct structure, the optimal design results need to be automatically drawn. In this paper, the parametric drawing method is proposed by combining high-level programming language FORTRAN and Auto LISP, and developed a designing system of mixed programming using FORTRAN and Auto LISP. The programming system is applied to the optimal design process of large prestressed aqueduct with rectangle and U-shaped cross-section. The optimal design result is automatically transformed into visual graphics (documents), therefore realized the automatic drawing. In this way, designers’ graphics labor intensity and repeated, complicated calculation can be reduced and the design cycle can shorten. Data files (*.DAT) and graphics files (*.LISP) can be generated not only by FORTRAN, but also by other high-level programming languages such as C++, VC etc.

Abstract: In the planetary gear transmission design, the structure and shape of some major parts are often the same or similar, tedious and duplicate drawing may reduce the drawing efficiency. This paper studies redevelopment technology by using Visual Lisp language in AutoCAD platform, and compiles drawing programs to realize parametric drawing. The new graph can be generated automatically by a computer by modifying simply a few parameters in the drawing process.

Abstract: In AutoCAD2008 development platform, taking MFC and ARX as development, integrating MFC ODBC to develop database, combining with parametric drawing techniques, it establishes the basic framework of mechanical CAD system. And taking gears parametric drawing as an example, the key technology of CAD system is illustrated, which improves the design efficiency and shortens the development cycle.
