Abstract: It has been shown that account of elastic nonlinearity during the propagation of an acoustic wave in a solid lead to the appearance of a quadratic nonlinearity, which in its turn leads to the possibility of generating a wave of double frequency, the interaction of harmonics is asymmetric. The conditions under which nonlinear stationary waves are formed are considered. A phase portrait is constructed, and the dependence of the wavenumber of a nonlinear wave on its amplitude is estimated.

Abstract: Sets up a nonlinear vehicle dynamic model of eight degrees of freedom and simulates in Matlab/Simulink environment using three anti-lock braking control algorithms, which contain PID, logic threshold and sliding mode variable structure. On the basis of the work, the improving effects for vehicle directional stability, the control effects analyzing from the aspects of tire/whole vehicle parameters and the phase-plane of slid slip angel and its rate are compared and analyzed. The results show that: PID responses fastest but with larger overshoot, logic threshold has smallest fluctuations thus can be implemented more easily, sliding mode control responses slowest but can hold the slip rate more accurately.

Abstract: The energy in rechargeable batteries of robots was restricted by its capacity and chemistry combination. Since the energy was limited, the way to manage batteries charging/discharging characteristic and how it applies on robots load become crucial to prolong robots working hours and life. Phase Plane Analysis of Battery Series Balancing on Robot is proposed by switching super capacitor according voltage and current in need for batteries with matrix connection. To take servo motors frequently load shock characteristic in concern, the proposed structure able to absorb and release power instantly since the characteristic of super capacitor has a better performance than Lithium batteries.

Abstract: Aiming at improving vehicle’s handing stability, based on Simulink and SimPower, in this paper, a steer-by-wire(SBW) model with actor physical model has been built. Based on node and saddle points’ position on β-r phase plane, analyzing different factors influence on handing stability, such as wheel angle and speed. Then put forward an ideal transmission control strategy with energy phase plane feedback. Through simulating and analyzing with phase plane on limit steering condition, this paper verifies the control strategy with feedback will increase handing stability more than traditional ideal transmission strategy.

Abstract: A new method and equipment based on compound pendulum was designed for measuring moment of inertia (MOI). The measurement principle of the system, being quite different from the traditional method which records the swing period of the compound pendulum, records the “Angle-time” curve and conducts a series of computation featuring phase-plane to obtain the MOI of the object being measured. The proposed method could effectively eliminate the friction moment’s influence on the measurement results and enhance the precision up to 0.12%. The method is suitable for the heavy and large-scale objects, especially those with large length/diameter ratio.
