Abstract: Ground vibration caused by pile driving is a kind of mechanical vibration, and the research of its characteristics is the premise of the effect evaluation on surrounding environment. With the engineering example by the analysis of vibration monitoring, the results show that the vibration frequency is low, and there is a power function relationship between the vibration velocity and the distance from monitoring point to the pile. It can be used for impact evaluation of vibration according to the fitting equation.

Abstract: Based on the precast pile foundation field test of the power plant, the distribution and dissipation of the excess pore water pressure induced by the construction of the precast pile are first analyzed after the plastic drain board driven in the soft ground. Then the influence factors of the distribution and dissipation of the excess pore water pressure are presented. Subsequently the quality problem of the pre-date driven pile caused by the construction of the precast pile is studied. The main control parameters of the precast pile construction under the complicated condition are provided, which will provide a reference for such similar projects.

Abstract: Technological processes such as forging, die forging, pile driving, etc., are realized as a result of a collision between two bodies. The bodies’ rebound after the collision takes place due to the use of part of the energy of the hit for their elastic deformation. The paper presents results from an experimental research on the possibilities of the decrease of rebound, by the use of an additional force during the hit. A laboratory test-stand is described in which an additional force is created by the use of a cold rocket engine, working with compressed air.

Abstract: The main mode of pile-soil interaction and the influence factors of pile sinking in offshore platform construction were analyzed and discusses the reasons that penetration resistance increases after stop driving and then continue. To study the drivability of piles of specified driving hammer, taking a jacket platform of Bohai Sea for instance, the results showed that continuous driving will make the open-end steel piles be driven to the designed depth, and driven-on will cause soil plug and pile driving refusal. Based on the results, the paper gives some suggestions about pile driving.

Abstract: Pile clamping mechanism with hydraulic static pile driver has advantages of convenient for the design, improvement and use. The maximum transmission pile driving force of pile clamping mechanism of hydraulic static pile driver was analyzed. The static forces of pile clamping mechanism and prefabricated pile were researched and analyzed. The contact between prefabricated pile and pile clamping jaws under pile driving was investigated. It was revealed that when the force of pile clamping cylinder is small, the contact between prefabricated pile and pile clamping jaws under pile driving can be considered that between the elastic inner cylindrical surface and the axis parallel elastic outer cylindrical surface. When the force of pile clamping cylinder is large, the prefabricated pile contacted with pile clamping jaws under pile driving can be considered the hollow thick-wall cylinder subjected to uniformly distributed external pressure.

Abstract: Driven piles commonly generate excess pore water pressures in the surrounding soil. The reconsolidation of the clay around the piles is investigated, assuming that the Mechant model can be used to describe the visco-elastic features of the soil. The initial excess pore distribution away from the pile varies according to the cylindrical cavity expansion theory. The governing equation is derived under the continuity condition. The three-dimensional analytic solution of dissipation of the excess pore water pressures induced by pile driving is solved by the methods of separation of variables and using the Laplace transform and inverse transform. Then, a case is analyzed making use of the solutions. The results show the dissipation speed of excess pore water pressures around the pile is faster than that far away from the pile and the vertical dissipation rate increases along the depth.
