Abstract: Biomass cushioning packaging material has been gaining attention in the properties of the materials because of biodegradable and green environmental protection, and the starch plastics play an important role. Urea, formamide, glycerol, ethylene glycol four material compounded with starch respectively, for the purpose to forming hydrogen bonds by the test in this paper, the ability to hydrogen bond with the starch has been observed by infrared spectrum analysis. The results showed that urea, formamide as strong electronegative group stronger binding, glycerol and ethylene glycol are more preferably to form hydrogen bonds with the starch because of more hydroxyl group content.

Abstract: Mostly used in packing and outdoor facilities in the early stage, wood-plastic composites are gradually applied to other design sectors thanks to their advantageous features including cost efficiency, environmental protection, recyclability as well as being easy to be processed and fabricated. The application of this kind of green and new material in the exhibition design sector will be beneficial to developing the standardized structure and rapid fabrication in the exhibition design to save the project construction material costs and shorten erection time. In this article, the feasibility and ecological significance of using wood-plastic composites in the exhibition sector are explored from the aspects of the physical and chemical properties of the wood-plastic composites as well as their processing methods.

Abstract: The aim of the paper is to study the effect of the surface shape and perforation of plastics on sound absorption. Samples with different asperity heights, depths and numbers of holes were prepared by means of CNC milling machine. Experimental measurements of frequency dependencies of the sound absorption coefficient were realized by the transfer function method using Kundt ́s impedance tube at normal incidence of acoustic wave on the investigated materials. The study was performed on two types of polyurethanes. Different factors, that have influence on sound absorption, are evaluated in the conclusion of this work. Both investigated materials are also compared in terms of their ability to absorb sound.

Abstract: A hydraulic simulation in pipes allows us to analyze the hydraulic behavior under various conditions. Hydraulic experiments are essential because there are many peculiarities in the analysis of the experimental processes. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools assist in this process, they allow analyzes are made under the most varied conditions. Another parameter that typically affects the behavior of hydraulic fluid under pressure is the roughness of the materials that make up the pipes. In this work, we studied the variation of pressure in water pipes made from many common materials, such as plastic, cast iron and steel. Experimental data were used for validation, and the results showed variation in the parameters of the pressure and velocity fields.

Abstract: Constitutive equation for metal plastic forming reflects the relationships among the parameters of stress, strain and strain rate. The accuracy of constitutive equation is a key factor in the research of material mechanism, finite element simulation accuracy and forming failure. The commonly used establishment methods of constitutive equation are summarized. Those methods include experiment method, theory analysis method, neural network method, regression method and inverse finite element method. The advantages and disadvantages of those methods are discussed, and application scope of those methods is summarized simultaneously.

Abstract: Concerning with an actual situation in the exploitation of technological waste, this contribution deals with the properties analysis of moulded parts made of thermoplastics containing added regrind. The aim of the experiments was to analyze mechanical properties of plastics with various percentage of added regrind into basic material. Material PBT (polybutylene terephthalate), mineral composite with 30% glass fiber, was used for experimental testing. The plastics specimens were made by injection moulding and tested by chosen mechanical properties. The yield of tested material had tendency to decline with added amount of regrind. Addition of regrind had no impact on change of tensile strength and hardness of tested materials with regrind. The values of Charpy impact test had decreasing tendency with increasing rate of regrind. The utilization of regrind at the production of new moulded parts is important from aspect of reduction plastics waste and pollution abatement of environment.

Abstract: Alexander Parkes found the earliest plastic in 1850. American scientist John Wesley Hyatt achieved the first patent of plastic (1970) and inaugurated the first plastics industry (1873) with his brother in the world. From then on, plastics industry all over the world have experienced about 150 years development. Based on the learning from overseas industries, China gradually constructed and cultivated himself plastics industry system that is full of Chinese characteristics. The amount of plastics production, plastics products and plastics machine production as well as plastics consumption in China increased quickly. The value of plastics import and export trade rose year by year. Nowadays, China reaches an advanced level in the world no matter plastics machine production, plastic goods production, plastics consumption, or outlet of plastics machines and products. Plastic industry has be one of the important light manufacturing pillar industries in society and economics development of China.

Abstract: The technological and economic advantages of laser welding of plastics in comparison to the traditional welding process and research situation are analyzed in this paper. Process methods of this technology are reviewed as well as the range of application for these manners is compared. The technological challenges facing the further development of the technology and the critical issues needing to be solved are deeply investigated. It is pointed out that efficient prevention of plastics distortion and cracking as well as control of internal structure and defects are currently the two bottleneck obstacles challenging the further development and industrial applications of the revolutionary advanced manufacturing technology. The developments of laser welding technology of plastics in the future are also forecasted.
