Abstract: A quaternary non-phosphorus compound agent was prepared from polyaspartic acid (PASP), aconitic acid-acrylic acid copolymer (AA-AA), sodium gluconate and Zn2+. The performances of scale inhibiting and dispersing, corrosion inhibiting and biodegradability of the agent were studied. The results showed that when the formula was 4mg/L PASP , 8mg/L AA-AA, 20mg/L sodium gluconate and 2mg/L Zn2+, the corrosion rate was 0.0180 mm/a and the corrosion inhibition rate could reach up to 98.01% and the total concentration was not much high. The dynamic simulation test indicated that the scale inhibition and dispersing performance of the compound agent was excellent. In the complex water system which Cl- and SO42- contents were high, the corrosion inhibition rate on carbon steel was still above 90%. The quaternary compound agent applied to high hardness and high corrosivity water quality. It was a kind of high efficient environment friendly corrosion inhibitor, which could replace the phosphorous water treatment agents on the market.

Abstract: Polyaspartic acid (PASP) and a copolymer (AA) of acrylic acid and acrylicester were synthesized. A ternary composite (PASP-AA-DTPMP) was made from PASP, AA and DTPMP. The performances of ternary composite were studied by using static scale inhibition and weight loss of rotating hung steel slices test. When the concentration of ternary composite was 6mg/L, the scale inhibition rate reached 95% and the corrosion inhibition rate reached 97.9%. The results showed that the ternary composite had good scale and corrosion inhibiton performance and was suitable for high temperature and hardness circulating cooling water system.

Abstract: Static and dynamic experiments were used to evaluate scale inhibition performance of modified polyaspartic acid (PASP-ASP). The static experiments showed that the PASP-ASP had good scale inhibition performance and the scale inhibition rate exceeded 98% when the PASP-ASP was 2 mg·L-1 and the solution temperature was 40 OC. In the dynamic experiments, almost no scale was formed on the heat transfer surface and the fouling thermal resistance decreases extraordinarily with PASP-ASP treatment experiment compared with the experiment without treatment. The PASP-ASP could be used in industrial cooling water systems.

Abstract: The intermediate product polysuccinimide was synthesized by catalytic polymerization with L-aspartic acid as raw material in liquid phase, and then the main chain of poly (aspartic acid) were introduced several new functional groups by the method of open-loop, synthesized polyaspartic acid and its derivatives. The structure of these products were characterized by FT-IR, and the properties of scale inhibition and biodegradability of polyaspartic acid and its derivatives were studied. The results show that the several types of polymers have biodegradable properties. After the new functional groups were grafted in PASP, the performance of scale inhibition of Ca3(PO4)2 could significantly be improved, but reduce the performance of scale inhibition of BaSO4.

Abstract: Static and dynamic experiments were used to evaluate scale inhibition performance of polyaspartic acid derivative (PASP-SEA-ASP). The static experiments showed that the PASP-SEA-ASP had good scale inhibition performance and the scale inhibition rate exceeded 80% when the PASP-SEA-ASP was 2 mg•L-1 and the solution temperature was 40 OC. In the dynamic experiments, almost no scale formed on the heat transfer surface and the fouling thermal resistance decreases extraordinarily with PASP-SEA-ASP treatment experiment compared with the experiment without treatment. The PASP-SEA-ASP could be used in industrial cooling water systems.

Abstract: A multiple non-phosphorus corrosion inhibitor was prepared by mixing polyaspartic acid with itaconic acid homopolymer, sodium gluconate and surfactant alkylolamide in a certain proportion. The corrosion inhibition performance was tested and the mechanism was studied by electrochemical process. The results showed that synergies among components of the agent made the corrosion inhibition rate on carbon steel reach up to 96.96%. This mainly because that a dense adsorbed film formed on the surface of the carben steeel.

Abstract: An environment-friendly and multifunctional agent for industry circulation cooling water, polyaspartic acid derivatives with dihydroxyl group(DHPAP) was synthesized in aqueous solution. The FTIR spectrum of DHPAP was analyzed. Static experiments were carried out to validate scale inhibition performance of DHPAP. The scale inhibition ratios exceed 90% when 8 and 10 mg/L DHPAP under solution temperatures of 80 and 60°C, respectively. The scale inhibition ratios increase by increasing the DHPAP concentration with 6 and 8 mg/L under heating times of 10 and 6h, respectively. And the scale inhibition ratios are over 90%.

Abstract: The synergistic scale inhibition effect of rare-earth permanent magnetic material and polyaspartic acid is studied. The performance of synergistic scale inhibition is studied in different magnetic field intensity, water hardness and rate of concentration. Static and dynamic scale inhibition tests show that the two water treatment ways have good synergistic scale inhibition effect. The scale inhibition performance of polyaspartic acid can be increased greatly by the magnetization of water.

Abstract: Polyaspartic acid (PASP) composite material, a scale and corrosion inhibitor, is prepared from PASP, acrylic acid-acrylic ester- itaconic acid tripolymer (IA-AA-AE) and 2-phosphonobutane- 1,2,4-tricarboxylic acid (PBTCA). The scale inhibition effects of PASP and PASP composite are investigated. Calcium carbonate crystals in scale samples are characterized by means of SEM. Experimental results show that the scale inhibition rate can reach 98.7 % and corrosion inhibition rate 96.5 % under the conditions of Ca2+ 639 mg.L-1 and PASP composite material 40 mg.L-1. SEM results show that calcite and aragonite can be transformed into vaterite completely by using PASP composite material.

Abstract: Polyaspartic acid (PASP) was prepared by the means of polymerizing maleic anhydride and ammonia solution. In order to find optimal condition of synthesizing PASP, we made a set of experiments on proportion of material, temperature and time of polymerization in the single condition, and compared PASP with other scale inhibitors about the performance of scale inhibition and biodegradation. The results show: the optimal proportion of material is 1:1.1, the temperature of polymerization is 160°C, and the time of polymerization is 1h. Under above condition, we synthetized the PASP its inhibiting efficiency can reach over 95%, and biodegradation rate reaches 70%.
