Abstract: This paper presents a design study of an optical three-axis angle sensor for measurement of angular error motions of long-stroke precision linear stages. The three-axis angle sensor, which is based on a laser autocollimation method, can detect angular motions about the XYZ-axes simultaneously by using zeroth-and first-order diffraction beams from a diffraction grating mounted on a measuring target as a reflector. In this paper, an optical sensor head is designed in such a way that the three-axis angle sensor shares a diffraction grating with an optical sensor head of a linear encoder, which is already installed in a stage system. The optical sensor head of the three-axis angle sensor is designed in a size of smaller than 50 mm × 30 mm × 30 mm so that the sensor head can be compatible with the linear encoder. Details of the optical configuration designed for the sensor head, and some results of experiments are reported.

Abstract: This work describes the activities and the results achieved within the SPARTACUS project with regards to the development of a pedestrian positioning system for first responders based on inertial sensors and GNSS data integration. In particular, three steps have been dealt with. At first the analysis of a typical human motion profile, highlighting the Zero Velocity Update constraints; secondly, the definition of a high accurate reference trajectory for test validation purposes, with both indoor and outdoor tracks. Finally, the tuning of Extended Kalman Filter parameters for the calibration of the best sensor data fusion algorithm mainly focused to dead reckoning positioning and field test result assessment.

Abstract: Management of universal shelf stacker process many varied operations, whose are different in difficulty of solved problems, time of reaction of controller and next parameters. Usually is used one controller with all functions, which have many external input-output modules and have to solve parallel many tasks together. The control application have to be very complicated and blind with risk of collisions control processes and needed of solving control process priority. If the processes are separated to the groups, every group of processes solved with separate control automat. For simple processes, whose needs immediate reaction can be used simple and easy controller, complex control processes have to been solved with controller with sufficient performance, mathematical performance and adequate memory.

Abstract: In the paper, we experimentally analyze a pneumatic actuator and possibilities of piston positioning. Paper shows mathematical model of pneumatic actuator. Actuator is experimentally tested and therefor experimental stand is assembled for the purposes of positioning of actuator piston. The changing parameters during the experiment are weight of load and pneumatic pressure. The results show how these parameters can have influence on precise positioning of pneumatic actuator. For experiment there is purposely used open loop control system. The aim of the study is not to show control method for positioning but to show influence of mentioned parameters.

Abstract: Considering the condition that many security accidents of school children have been occurred in campus which were mainly caused by the current lower effective management, this paper proposed a method of positioning the real-time locations of the school children by introducing the RFID technology. In this method, RFID readers were set up covering the campus (such as school gates, classrooms, corridors, playground) and it’s surrounding areas, and each school child was equipped with an ID card (It's actually a RFID tag). A system for dynamic monitoring and management of the school children was developed, which can detect the student cards in real-time and so as to monitor the locations of the school children, recognize dangerous areas and alert as well as automatic statistic of the school children’ attendance. So, it realized the automation and intelligence of the school children security management.

Abstract: Zigbee technology and RFID technology are combined to design the system that can do real-time positioning and tracking on foreign visitors. The system locates and identifies the visitors who wear RFID card via locater and the locater transmits the ID information of RFID card and position information to the coordinator through Zigbee network and then the coordinator will pass the data after redundancy processing to the monitoring center via Ethernet. This system has advantages in low power consumption, wide deployment range, stable signal transmission and good recognization ability and it is applicable to important places such as high-grade residential area, park, warehouse and research institute, etc.

Abstract: In order to pinpoint the location of the crew, master the number, location and distribution of personnel and activity track of time period, designed personnel positioning system of the ship based on zigbee technical by the gateway node, reference node, locate nodes, and designed personnel positioning system software in the IAR development environment. RSSI location algorithm has been improved, and the improved positioning algorithm using Matlab simulation to test, the test results show that the improved algorithm has higher positioning accuracy.

Abstract: Things of RFID-based asset management applications in the metering equipment, researching applicable to the marketing of RFID tags metering equipment, automatic identification metering equipment. Based on sensor network technology, a wireless sensor network are established in the metering equipment warehouse, working libraries and other areas so that each region and the metering device automatically perception, monitoring and recording the operation of process measuring device , strengthen out of storage management, metering equipment for the entire process of tracking. Innovative metering equipment on-site mode of operation, through handheld devices, allows the operator to automatically locate existing metering operation of equipment, a comprehensive record of on-site business information to improve business efficiency. System of things technology integration metering equipment monitoring information, will achieve metering equipment identity, authentication, monitoring, positioning and tracking, real-time monitoring metering device status, with warning alarm, query statistics functions.
