Abstract: Apple-roxburgh rose dregs are rich in insoluble dietary fiber. To prepare the granular insoluble dietary fiber from the dregs by chemical method, single-factor experiments were carried out considering such factors as the ratio of solution and dregs, the size of the dregs,NaOH concentration, the extraction temperature and time. The optimal extractions conditions were obtained by L9(34) orthogonal methodology considering such factors as the size of the dregs,NaOH concentration, the extraction temperature and time, and they were as follows:fresh dregs were extracted by 70%(v/v) at 60°C for 15 min, then dregs were dried at 70°C and powdered, dregs were sifted through 60-mesh sieve and the soluble pectin was get rid of by slight acid solution. Dregs were sifted through 40-mesh sieve and mixed with 1.0mol/L NaOH solution at the ratio of 5∶1, the mixture was kept at 60°C for 3.0h. At last, dregs were dried and powdered. The granular insoluble dietary fiber was thus prepared with the yield of 83.7%. The water holding capability and hydration capability of finished granular product are 17.0 gram water and 4.3 ml per gram product, respectively. Preparation of granular insoluble dietary fiber from apple-roxburgh rose dregs is practiced and there is a few literatures concerning this research.

Abstract: The Polygonum Cuspidatum Sieb.et Zucc natural pigments were extracted and compounded with PBS in this paper. The performances of the pigment and the dyed films were studied. The results showed that: both the natural pigment and the dyed films had good thermal stability. Under the acidic conditions, the absorbance of the pigment changed little. The effect to the dyed films by pH indicated the pigments dissolved out of PBS with the degradation. The antibacterial evaluation demonstrated that the natural pigments had good inhibition against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The antibacterial properties of the films were not obvious, but it also revealed that the pigment and PBS had the good compatibility.

Abstract: Geopolymers are man-made aluminosilicate materials with many exceptional properties. The preparation of geopolymer, using SDRMS as main raw material, lime (CaO) and gypsum (CaSO4ּ2H2O) as activators in analytical grade, was carried out, and the hydration products of which were characterized by XRD and SEM simultaneously in this study. The results revealed that compressive strength of geopolymer paste obtained by the combined excitation of lime and gypsum, was higher than that obtained by only excitation of lime. The former was in the range of 46-70 MPa, the latter was 5–28 MPa after 28d maintenance of geopolymer paste. The highest strength of 70MPa was obtained when the weight ratio of SDRMS/ lime/ gypsum was at 70:20:10 in the geopolymer paste. By the combined excitation of lime and gypsum, the SiO2 and Al2O3 in SDRMS were changed into the hydrates of ettringite, gismondine, killalaite and other based on XRD, which were observed with the acupuncture-like, fibrous, tabular and dendritic microstructure based on SEM.

Abstract: To explore the preparation method and characters of a new gold nanoshells on maganese-zinc ferrite (Mno.5Zno.5Fe2O4@Au) composite nanoparticles. Mno.5Zno.5Fe2O4@Au nanoparticles with core/shell structure were synthesized by reduction of Au3+ with trisodium citrate in the presence of Mno.5Zno.5Fe2O4 magnetic nanoparticles (MZF-NPs) prepared by improved co-preciption with the character of superparamagnetism and detected by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), x-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS) and Marven laser particle size analyzer.Thermodynamic test was used to observe temperature change of various doses of Mno.5Zno.5Fe2O4@Au nanoparticles. The cytotoxicity of the Mno.5Zno.5Fe2O4@Au composite nanoparticles in vitro was tested by the MTT assay. The therapeutic effect of Mno.5Zno.5Fe2O4@Au composite nanoparticles combined with magnetic fluid hyperthermia (MFH) on human glioma cells were evaluated in vitro by an MTT assay. The results indicated that the Mno.5Zno.5Fe2O4@Au composite nanoparticles were prepared successfully. The core/shell particles were spherical with exact average diameter of them was 66.9nm.EDS showed each Mno.5Zno.5Fe2O4@Au nanoparticle contained Mn, Zn, Fe, O and Au elements, and this proved Au had successfully attached to Mn0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4.The result of thermodynamic test showed that Mno.5Zno.5Fe2O4@Au composite nanoparticles could serve as a heating source under alternating magnetic field (AMF) exposure leading to reach their steady temperature (40-45°C). Moreover, Mno.5Zno.5Fe2O4@Au composite nanoparticles didn’t show cytotoxicity in vitro. The therapeutic result reveals that Mno.5Zno.5Fe2O4@Au composite nanoparticles can significantly inhibit the growth of glioma cells. The conclusion was that the self-prepared Mno.5Zno.5Fe2O4@Au composite nanoparticles had strong magnetic responsiveness and good power absorption capabilities in the high frequency AMF,then they could suggested to be useful for glioma hyperthemia. Mno.5Zno.5Fe2O4 @Au composite nanoparticles can not only be directed to tumor region in a given magnetic field more exactly but also produce marked thermotherapy.
