Abstract: Machine tool is the basic equipment of machinery industry, playing very important role in today's manufacturing, and its variety, quality and processing efficiency directly affects economic benefits and the technology level of the mechanical industry production. The modular machine tool is widely used in the industry, and its production efficiency is increased by several times or even several times than the common machine tool, with such processing methods of multi-axis, multi-knife and multi-process. This paper designs the small combined machine with a set of turning, milling, drilling and grinding by PTC's 3D software, namely Pro/Engineer. At last, the technique of the interference analysis and visual simulation has been carried on, verifying the feasibility of the machine design. The machine tool is mainly used to meet the needs of processing the small parts in scientific research, teaching unit or small repair industry, not only improving the machining efficiency, but also saving space and processing costs.

Abstract: For the needs of current growers, a multifunctional and continuous rotary bowl machine had been designed. The automatic bowl making technical scheme had been developed. The host structure and related parameters had been designed. The each part of the virtual prototyping was modeled and assembled by Pro/Engineer software. While simple in structure, the machine is highly efficient in bowl making and low in the damage rate. It can be widely used in the production of the required nutritional bowls including the fruits, flowers, corn and other crops etc.

Abstract: At present, the most widespread model of development for the Virtools technology is 3DS Max + Virtools, to a certain extent, this limits the application of virtual reality technology in mechanical industry. In order to solve this problem, take the machinery slider as an example, set up entity model using Pro/ENGINEER (Proe), then render the model through the 3DS Max, finally import it into the Virtools platform for interaction design, realize importing and transformation of model from mechanical CAD software to Virtools development platform.

Abstract: In this paper, through the study of traditional light bus, found problems related to screening and using existing methods, bridge drive of light bus was designed. First determine the drive axle transmission ratio and reasonable distribution; secondly on the driving axle main transmission device structure and parameter design, including the design of main reducer, differential, half shaft design; finally completed the design of driving axle housing, in order to design the drive axle complete. And the use of traditional mechanical analysis methods of main parts of the driving axle ( reducer, differential, half shaft, axle and so on) for the strength analysis and calculation, including the gear bending stress calculation, strength check; gear contact stress calculation, strength check; half shaft torsional stress calculation. With the design idea and the design requirements of the rapid development, the three-dimensional design has become a necessary skill for designers, this paper introduces the basic functions of Pro/Engineer software and a simple application, and the design of the parts of the drive axle using the software.

Abstract: The solid modeling of one type of printed circuit board NC drilling machine is built by Pro/Engineer, and ANSYS is applied for modal analysis. In this paper, the key influential factors of the structure of the drilling machine are found out, the structure is improved and two prioritization schemes are proposed. After analyzing the primary structure and the two optimized structures of the machine tool bed and then comparing the analysis results, the optimal scheme is proposed. The results show that the optimization improves the dynamic property and the machining precision of the drilling machine.

Abstract: The 3D (three dimensional) assembly model should provide all of the product information in order to realize pure 3D modeling in PLM(Product Lifecycle Management). This paper briefly introduces the development of MBD (Model-based Definition) at first, and then the overall information needed in 2D (two dimensional) assembly drawing is presented. At last, the overall needed information (dimensions, technical requirement, BOM(Bill of Materials)) is acted upon 3D assembly model successfully through the use of functions, for example, annotation, layer and view in Pro/ENGINEER.

Abstract: A great change in mechanical industry has occurred after several successful practices using MBD (Model Based Definition) of The Boeing Company. It is an inevitable trend from two-dimensional product definition to three-dimensional product definition in mechanical industry. Several standards for MBD have emerged around the world. This paper explores the non-revolved parts modeling methods based on MBD and Pro/ENGINEER, presents several key steps about full-annotated model per MBD and then makes a conclusion. Following these methods we successfully build a typical non-revolved model which conforms to MBD standards correctly and efficiently.

Abstract: To study the globoidal indexing cams parametric design, this paper introduced three kinds of its parametric modeling method.That was offset surfaces method , direct modeling method and "point - curve - surface" method. Then modeled the globoidal indexing cams which had the same parameters and specifications by three parametric methods and Pro/Engineer.Meanwhile, used curvature comb command in Pro/Engineer to conduct the curvature analysis of indexing segment of cam profile. At last, conducted the indexing mechanisms kinematic simulation by ADAMS. From the characteristics of these three parametric methods and the result of cam profiles curvature analysis, this paper explains the reason of jitter acceleration in the simulation results.

Abstract: Aiming at the existing problems in the process of product modeling and structure design such as of no visualized appearance, low efficiency and the easy interference of parts, a Pro/E-based product design method is proposed which, in the component pattern, conducts three-dimensional design by considering core component as reference and creates the rest parts according to modeling surface. This method effectively prevents the easy interference of parts during the process of product design, ensures the precise alignment among parts and avoids design repetition, thus greatly improves the design efficiency. Its application in the process of intelligent data acquisition terminal product design has proved the high efficiency and practicality of this design method.
