Abstract: Development of design software in the last two decades has led to marketing products with complex shapes; which, cannot be materialized without the aid of the computer. For some product development processes, reverse engineering (RE) allows generating surface models by three-dimensional scanning techniques, and consequently this methodology permits to manufacture different parts and tools , shortening the development time. The paper presents a redesign process applied on a thin walled plastic component using the Reverse Engineering technique. The part was scanned, modified and subject to simulations that will certity the flow and filling of the cavity.

The method was developed in the early 1980s as a consequence of the enormous growth of automation systems design and technology (CAD / CAM). The prototype of a complex solid model to determine the final appearance of the product, evaluate the assemblability of products, etc.

Abstract: This paper presents the novel design of a double hook manufactured with advanced composite materials and nanomaterials. For the preparation of the composite materials an epoxy resin was used while the fiber reinforcement was in the form of hybrid aramid/carbon twill fabric. The nanoparticles were silica nanospheres dispersed in the epoxy matrix. The nanospheres were in the form of a colloidal silica-sol and they were added in the epoxy resin so to form a carefully prepared masterbatch. A series of tensile and fracture toughness tests were performed in order to evaluate the effect of the nanosilica concentration as well as the strength of the hybrid aramid/carbon composites. Upon the design and the manufacture of the innovative geometry of the double hook, comparative uniaxial tensile tests were performed. The results proved that the use of the silica nanoparticles significantly increase the strength of the hook, while affect considerably its tensile fracture behavior.

Abstract: The tools used for collaborative product design is based on PLM solutions, integrating BOM, CAD, CAE, CAPP, CAM and PDM software. The PLM platforms are distributed in virtual project team of partners. Currently, the integrated collaborative and distributed product design and manufacture can be supported by the cloud technology, given advances in Cloud Computing. The objective of our research is to develop an infrastructure for integrated collaborative and distributed product design and manufacturing, including software applications, CNC machine tools, additive manufacturing machines etc., dispersed in different universities labs for students’ education.

Abstract: This research is the application of new design method for integrating the optimum shape and strength design process. The products is manufactured from product design which can use the advanced characteristic of composite materials obtained by the experiment and the numerical analysis. Here, the collaboration of the design and the strength analysis by using composite materials is carried out. The products, which are made from high strength composite materials, need new product design technology which draws out the characteristic of material's advantage. Existing product developments tend to separate product design from product planning. The process consists of three stages as follows; 1) Planning the shape of the product by designers, 2) Calculating the strength by numerical analysis, 3) Designing the product. It is performed a styling design by requirements from the engineering point of view. By using this design method of high-strength materials, we designed new styling ZIGZAG Chair made of the carbon fiber reinforced plastic with excellent strength and lightweight.

Abstract: The emergence and application of new materials have changed the traditional design and selection methods of humans, realizing the innovation of products and having a profound impact on the field of design. This paper analyzes and interprets the current application of new materials from the perspective of the relationship between product design and design materials, proposes application principles of new materials in products design by combining applied features of new materials in products design and exacts and summarizes requirements with practical significance for new materials in products design.

Abstract: The market of agricultural machinery manufacturing industry has been an unprecedented development in recent years. After the increasing homogenization of the products functions, increasing competition, industrial design as a means of advantageous product innovation, becoming many companies new competitive weapon. However, the projects of product development in many enterprises, the success rate is not high, the innovation and the risk remains high, which point we focus on is that the risk factors design brings to market. Study the basic design risk identification rules, procedures and methods, citing the risk of identification methods and their characteristics, laid the foundation for future theoretical research and product innovation applications.

Abstract: Based on the development status of children's carts in the market at present, we make the man-machine relations as the breakthrough point of the design to study and analyze the existing problems of children's carts. And we design a kind of carts with the functions not only can be pushed but also can be removed. It can not only realize the basic function of the carts but also can let the users achieve the purpose of parent-child interaction to increase the feeling between the parents and the children.
