Abstract: In the last decade, the computing power of computers has significantly increased, which enabled very detailed and accurate numerical static non-linear analyses of reinforced concrete structures to be carried out using sophisticated commercial software. However, higher risk of errors, both in the calculation inputs and algorithm, is linked with the increased detail and accuracy of numerical modelling. For this reason, it is convenient to verify the results provided by sophisticated software using simplified analytical approaches. In order to provide a tool for quick and easy verification of results provided by sophisticated software, a novel web-based application employing simplified analytical methods has been developed by the authors of this paper. This web-based application is capable of quick and easy calculations of bending moments in reinforced concrete two-way slabs. For the calculation of bending moments, the Marcus Method is employed. This method introduces a correction coefficient to the Rankine-Grashoff Theory of Equal Deflections in order to account for the torsional restraints at the corners of the slab. These analytical methods are algorithmized and implemented using the JavaScript programming language. A graphical user interface for the input of data and for the interpretation of results is created using the HTML markup language. The novel web-based application is freely available and works on all common devices and operating systems. From the presented results, it is clear that the novel web-based application is quick, easily available, user-friendly, and intuitive. The web-based application can be used for the verification of the calculated bending moments during the design of a reinforced concrete two-way slab.

Abstract: A new approach of mechanical driving-gear dynamic analysis, which includes several modelling stages is observed in the article. On the first stage driving-gear is represented in the form of consistently connected rotation bodies. The driving-gear is represented in a graphic kind by means of the marked graph. On the second stage mathematical model of driving-gear performance with using of mnemonic rule is created. Mathematical model of mechanical driving-gear is a system of second-order regular differential equations (RDEs). The system of second-order regular differential equations is transformed into a system of first-order regular differential equations. There is a standard method for writing a higher-order RDE as a system of the first-order RDEs. On the third stage computer model of driving-gear performance using system Mathcad is created and initial data is defined. On the fourth stage the mechanical driving-gear modelling is performed and calculation data in numerical and graphical forms is obtained. This approach provides high level of the driving-gear dynamic analysis, including the received results presentation, which is especially important on the earliest stages of mechanical driving-gear design. The proposed procedure of mechanical driving-gear dynamic analysis using Mathcad software significantly decreases time and working costs on execution of such computations and helps to execute investigations related with changing of driving-gear elements parameters efficiently.

Abstract: The article describes the procedure of structurally-parametrical optimization of technological process by Dijkstra's method with using of Dijkstra’s functional (recurrent) equation and Mathcad system. The technological process includes n of operations and each operation can be executed by various types of equipment. Expenses (cost, time, ...) on execution of i operation by k equipment after execution by j equipment (i-1) operation are known - c (i, j, k). The algorithm of the decision of a problem by Dijkstra’s method includes two phases. The first phase is calculations of the minimum expenses for execution of all partial technological processes, from first operation of process to the last. The second phase is definition of the required optimum set of equipment which is carrying out all technological process with the minimum expenses from last operation of process to the first. The proposed procedure of structurally-parametrical optimization of technological process using Dijkstra’s method and Mathcad software significantly decreases time and labour costs on execution of such calculations and efficiently to execute investigations related with change of equipment parameters.

Abstract: Beam-like members such as shafts, levers, frame components, beam structures, etc. are regularly designed and constructed in the field of mechanical and civil engineering. It is pertinent to know the structural integrity of the design before construction or fabrication. Beam deflection and stress calculations can be cumbersome and results from commercial simulation packages are not devoid of truncation and/or round-off errors because they are based on numerical schemes. To reduce or eliminate these issues, a computational tool, CABDA, has been designed and developed on matlab. The algorithm is based on analytic equations of beam deflection and bending stress theories; a design flow chart and graphic user interface were done to implement the algorithm. Experiments and simulations have been carried out for steel and brass rectangular beams which were compared with results obtained from CABDA for the same beam model. Average deflection errors recorded for steel beam are-0.4 and-0.015; for brass beam are-0.69 and-0.1 for experiment and simulation respectively. Average bending stress error recorded is-0.19 for simulation. It is observable that simulation results compare closely but CABDA gives exact results and therefore is very appropriate for simple beam problems.

Abstract: Methodical approach to assessing the investment programs of capital construction of technological facilities is suggested. It takes into account the specifics of the mining and processing enterprises. The ability to use borrowed funds as a source of financing is considered. The investment schedule of commissioning the crushing and shifting point is formed. It reflects the cash flows of the bank and mining and processing enterprise. Program of implementation of the investment projects is developed. It consists of four stages: the first stage – preparatory works; the second stage – beginning of construction works; the third stage – commissioning of the technological object, which gives the opportunity to profit before the appointed time; the fourth stage – commissioning technological object at full capacity, credit payment. Options of advance credit repayment are examined.

Abstract: Article deals with the possibilities of modelling and simulating in program Extend. It is a simple tool that allows you to model and carry out simulation of specified process to create a good precondition for decision-making. The development of simulation tools and their introduction into industrial practice is the now common practice, particularly in large enterprises. In these turbulent times it is only a matter of time before these virtual tools are commonly used in small businesses.

Abstract: A new program-and goal-oriented approach is offered for organization of geodetic monitoring of deformations of buildings and structures, which unlike the deterministic approach requiring strict adherence to the basic provisions of scientifically unjustified, obsolescent regulatory materials, helps synthesize the main parameters of the repeated geodetic observations on a scientifically justifiable basis with representativeness and ample reliability of determining deformation characteristics of buildings and structures.

Abstract: The main ideas of optimization technique for allocation scheme and hydro power plant (HPP) parameters with respect to regional peculiarities are described in the article. The problem is discussed using rivers channel network. Energy, economic, social, ecological, water-energy and resource specific regional peculiarities are taken into account. Rivers channel network water energy cadastre calculations have been formalized. Algorithm for hydro power plant optimal location search and HPP number at rivers channel network have been developed. Main hydro power plant parameters are substantiated for each of numerous location variants based on formalized water energy calculations.

Abstract: A python program is developed for analysis and design of planar four-bar linkages. The program contains one main class for design and analysis of common use. It allows users to make the analysis of position, velocity, acceleration for any four-bar linkages, and show an animation to simulate the motion of planar mechanism. It offers a reference to the beginner for teaching and learning mechanism design and analysis. This program also allows user make changes and improvement on default code for application.
