Abstract: This paper describes an experimental study on the pure shear properties of E-Glass woven fabric by picture frame test. During shear deformation, the fabric yarns experience large angular change between warp and weft yarns. The picture frame test is one of the fundamental methods to characterize the in-plane shear behaviour of woven fabrics and can produce a quite uniform shear deformation state in the fabric sheet. Tests are conducted on two different size of EGlass specimens 40x40 mm and 80x80 mm. For a double increase the specimen size, the values of shear force and axial load are also almost double increase at the maximum displacement and shear angle.

Abstract: The flexibility of connection between the steel plate and concrete slab gives rise to interface slip and additional deflection. A method of analysis for steel-concrete composite plate with slip effect resulting from studs is presented. The basic idea is to place a hypothetical thin shear-layer between steel and concrete slab, where all the shear deformation is concentrated in the thin layer. Analytical solutions for elastic critical buckling load of composite plate considering slip effect under axial compressive and pure shear are derived. The theory model and the solutions are then validated by means of three-dimensional finite element analysis.

Abstract: In this work, the static response of a perforated functionally graded plate is investigated under pure shear. Young’s modulus is assumed to vary arbitrarily along the radial direction, while Poisson’s ratio keeps constant. Using the stress function method, the governing equation is obtained, and then the series solution of stresses is derived with the aid of the Frobenius method. Numerical examples show that the convergence rate of the presented solution is rapid.

Abstract: The role of the deformation pre-history in high-cycle fatigue properties of copper produced by severe plastic deformation is discussed. The focus is placed on comparison of the structures and mechanical behaviours of two types specimens produced either by rolling or by ECAP, i.e. by the pure shear or simple shear mode, respectively. It is shown that the deformation either by simple or pure shear mode to the same equivalent strain results in alike mechanical properties, both monotonic and cyclic. The significant influence of the initial stages of strain hardening on fatigue is highlighted.
