Abstract: We propose an autonomic QoS and QoE management architecture based on causal graphs for IPTV services over IP access networks. Our solution achieves a global self-diagnosis process based on local knowledge of each network element using a model-based diagnosis approach. We illustrate this novel approach in an IMS platform and detail the corresponding causal graph and diagnosis process for IPTV services.

Abstract: The Quality of Experience (QoE) evaluation for mobile streaming service over LTE network is essential for mobile networking development. However, few QoE researches for mobile streaming service focus on LTE network. Based on the research of QoE for mobile streaming service over other networks, this paper achieves the simulation for network transmission for different videos using H.264 format on the ns-3 LTE simulation platform. What’s more, exponential model fittings are performed for not only single Quality of Service (QoS) parameter and QoE, but also multiple QoS parameters and QoE. Simulation results show that the network parameters and the Mean Opinion Score (MOS) of QoE have strong exponential relationships for streaming service over LTE network.

Abstract: In the real-time network video surveillance system which uses UDP for data transmission, the packet loss and delay of H.264 video data unit would cause image pause and blur. The paused and blurry image affects the quality of users’ experience. In this paper, we put forward Idr (invalid data rate) to integrate the delay and packet loss rate and chooses code rate as the target of adjustment. We propose an adaptive transmission approach based on QoE Measurement of invalid data rate. Experiment result shows that, this approach can improve the video fluency and clarity as well as user experience.

Abstract: In converged networking, the evaluation of network performance is completed by analyzing the key performance indexes which can reflect the states of network from the point of user view and integrated results should be evaluated by user or quality of experiences. This paper proposes the algorithm for evaluation of network performance based on the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process that utilizes strategy data and key performance indexes to calculate the integrated results of evaluation. The result provides the necessary reference for the real-time monitoring of network.

Abstract: PTV is a kind of digital television service developed by telecommunication operation business, which provides multicast, VOD and time-shifted, as well as a variety of value-added applications. The broadcasting quality of the IPTV program will determine the popularization of this service. This article mainly analyzes the broadcasting mode, monitors the key parameters and standards of IPTV program. It layouts the IPTV program broadcasting monitoring system, and defines the monitoring function to specific equipment to guide the development implementation of the system.

Abstract: In this paper the measurement concept of QoE related to mobile video streaming in 3G network environment is introduced. The state-of-the-art tools created for automatic data capturing in field experiments are compared. Results of a semi-Living Lab experiment using the MyExperience in-situ measurement tool are presented and analyzed. Five orthogonal QoE aspects are proposed by performing Principal Component Analysis on 17 question items from the questionnaires. Technical-quality related QoE aspects are modeled by the technical QoS parameters (at wireless infrastructure and network level) measured during the experiment. It is shown that QoE of mobile video streaming is influenced by the QoS and by the context also.
