Abstract: In many cases it is considered appropriate to estimate, as accurately as possible, the remaining life for various metal constructions, especially when they are of major importance. By estimating as accurately as possible, the risks of yielding during operation, or even causing catastrophes, can be reduced. In order to make this estimate, various investigations are needed on the critical areas established in initial design, or determined during operation. Out of the desire to find ways to improve the procedures applied and to provide more certainty to the conclusions resulting from the technical reports prepared, the paper presents and critically analyzes such a procedure applied to a specific case. Following the analysis, several observations and technical and methodological proposals for improvement are presented, in line with current scientific and technological developments.

Abstract: In the application of the TOFD inspection method, the analysis of test results is the focus and aporia of the study. TOFD image analysis include: analysis of defect size, location analysis and defect map features. In order to increase people's understanding of the TOFD technique, given butt joint welds TOFD and RT detect. The paper introduces basic process of defect using the TOFD method, describes method of quantitative orientation of the defect in detail, analyzes the localization and quantification of defects in detection. Determine the qualitative of defects by Ray photographs and analyze the characteristics of the defects of this nature in the TOFD image.

Abstract: As performance of processes in a manufacturing system determines the quality of product, the factors that have effects on the processes need to be taken into account to guarantee the product quality during manufacturing. As impacting factors’ effects are usually qualitatively described and hence result in difficulties of quantifying and evaluating, this paper proposes organizing a group of experts to evaluate the effects of the impacting factors and applying a fuzzy Impact-Matrix method to quantify the evaluation results. The proposed method provides engineers with a general perspective to identify important impacting factors and thus facilitates the control of processes.
