Abstract: In this paper the different kind of quaternary ammonium salt was applied to modify the cotton fabric and then the modified cotton fabric was dyed under low salt condition. The effect of modifier structure, modifier concentration, modification time and temperature on the dyeing performances of the modified cotton fabric was investigated. The results indicated that the optimal modification condition was that the modifier was Octadecyl dimethyl hydroxyethyl quaternary ammonium nitrate, modifier concentration was 40 g/L, modification time was 40 min, modification temperature was 60 °C and the salt concentration was 25% of the conventional dosage. The K/S value, soaping fastness and breaking strength of the modified cotton fabric under low salt condition was the same level as the conventional dyeing process.

Abstract: Two kinds of alkynoxymethyl benzyl quaternary ammonium salt (ABQAS) were synthesized by raw materials of paraformaldehyde, propiolic alcohol, organic amine, benzyl chloride and ethanol under nitrogen protection, toluene as carrying agent. The products were characterized by FTIR. According to the characteristics of blast furnace gas pipeline, quaternary ammonium salt type compound corrosion inhibitor formulas were designed, and their corrosion inhibition performance were evaluated by weight-loss method and electrochemical method. The results showed that the products were synthesized as expected, the two kinds of products had excellent inhibition performance to the cathode electrochemical process of A3 carbon steel, and the corrosion inhibition efficiency in simulative blast furnace gas reached to 100%.

Abstract: In the presence of alkaline catalyst sodium hydroxide, the intermediate of hyperbranched polyester (H20Cl) was prepared by the modification of hyperbranched polyester Boltorn H20 with epichlorohydrin. Then a new kind of quaternary ammonium functionalized hyperbranched polyester antibacterial agent (H20C16N) was synthesized by the reaction of H20Cl and hexadecyldimethylamine. The structures characterizations of H20C16N were characterized by 1H NMR. The application of H20C16N used as antibacterial agent of silk fabric was studied. The antibacterial ratio was 99.06% against escherichia coli and 98.24% against staphylococcus aureus. The excellent antibacterial properties of treated silk fabric were provided.

Abstract: Lignin-based anionic exchange resin was synthesized by modified alkali lignin after reaction with epichlorohydrin and triethylamine in the weak alkaline medium provided by pyridine in the organic medium of N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF). The influence of pyridine on synthesis process and yield of products were discussed. The product was characterized by FTIR spectroscopy analysis and the adsorbent capabilities for N from aqueous solution were also exploited. The factors that might influent the adsorption performance were investigated. An adsorbent dosage of 0.2g, adsorption time of 100min, pH of 4 and the initial concentration of nitrate concentration was 10mg/l were selected as optimum conditions.

Abstract: Three stilbene-eighteen alkyl quaternary ammonium salts were synthesized through three-step reactions. The physical properties of compounds were characterized by UV and fluorescence emission spectra. The new compounds were applied to cotton fiber as fluorescent brightening agents and their performances were evaluated by measuring the degree of whiteness. The surface tension (γ) and the Critical Micelle Concentration (CMC) of compounds were evaluated. The results showed that the three compounds could greatly reduce the surface tension of aqueous solutions.

Abstract: Alkali lignin, Modification, Quaternary ammonium salt, Cr(Ⅵ), Anion adsorbent Abstract. LIA(lignin ionic adsorbent) was synthesized by modified alkali lignin after reaction with epichlorohydrin and dimethylamine or diethylamine by using the modifying agents of N-methylmorpholine (NMM) in the presence of organic medium of N,N-dimethylformamide(DMF). The LIA was characterized by FTIR spectroscopy and elements analysis, the yield of products and the adsorbent capabilities for Cr(Ⅵ) from aqueous solution were also exploited. The factors that might influent the adsorption performance were investigated, such as adsorption time, reagent dosage and the initial concentration of Cr(Ⅵ). It was found that the efficiency of Cr(Ⅵ) removal were better when the amount of the sorbent was increased. But the removal efficiency was reduced as the initial concentration of Cr(Ⅵ) increased. The contrast result of the two synthesis processes also proved the yields of sample 3 (modified alkali lignin using diethylamine) was higher than sample 2 (modified alkali lignin using dimethylamine). And the adsorption capabilities of sample 3 were also better than sample 2.

Abstract: Studies of degradation have verified that the decomposition of some quaternary ammonium salts can begin to be significant at the temperature of about 180 ° C and like most thermoplastics are processed at least around this temperature, the thermal stability of the salt in clay should always be considered. Some salts are more stable than others, being necessary to study the degradation mechanisms of each case. In this work, four quaternary ammonium salts were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetry (TG). The results of DSC and TG showed that the salts based chloride (Cl-) anion begin to degrade at similar temperatures, while the salt based bromide (Br-) anion degrades at higher temperature. Subsequently, a quaternary ammonium salt was chosen to be used in organoclays, depending on its chemical structure and its thermal behavior.

Abstract: Several acetophenoneammonium tetraorganylborate salts as photoinitiators(PI) were synthesized by two-step method Which can dissolve in polyurethane- acrylate(PUA).Their structure were characterized by 1HNMR. The photopolymerization of B205 (bifunctionality PUA), intiated by acetophenone-ammonium tetraorganylborate salts and Darocur 1173, were studied. The results indicte that they were efficient for the polymerization but least than the Darocur 1173,and the hardness of the films were at least 3H after irradiation of UV.

Abstract: The quaternary ammonium salt cationic surfactant with long-chain alkyl and epoxy groups is very important intermediate product to synthesis novel functional surfactants. In this paper, a kind of quaternary ammonium salt cationic surfactant with long-chain alkyl and epoxy groups was synthesized by traditional method with epichlorohydrin and N-octadecyldimethylamine as raw materials. During the synthesis, the best reaction conditions have been obtained, that the reaction temperature is 35 °C, the reaction time is 4 h and the best mol ratio of epichlorohydrin to timethylamine is 5:1. In addition, the synthesized intermediate with long-chain alkyl and epoxy groups plays a very important roles in the development of cationic surfactant.

Abstract: A brand new organic cationic monomer glycidyl allyl dimethyl ammonium chloride(GADAC) was synthesized with dimethylamine, allyl chlorine and epichlorohydrin to protect the oil and gas reservoirs from damage. The effect of temperature, pH, time and the mole ratio of reactants on cationic degree of GADAC was investigated by the orthogonal design experiments and then the effect of cation concentration on the cationic degree of GADAC was also studied. The optimal condition for synthesis was gained and the product was characterized by FIRS, and the results showed that the target-product had a very good performance of anti-expansion with a very high cationic degree of more than 97%.
