Abstract: A microstrip patch antenna for RFID reader is presented in this paper. It operates within the RFID international UHF band (902-928MHz) which the center frequency is at 915MHz with 15dB of return loss value. The frequency ranges also cover the RFID UHF band for Malaysia (912-923MHz). The main objective for this antenna is to implement it in the RFID reader for an auto payment application. Some results have been shown between CST Microwave Studio, HFSS and the measurement. Good agreement is achieved for the used in the RFID UHF band.

Abstract: Printed antennas fabricated using conductive ink printed on flexible substrate is low-cost and environmental friendly. The inductance and the quality factor are two important parameters for designing RFID antenna and were studied for the printed RFID antennas. The results show that the inductance is not only determined by the size of the designed RFID antenna but also related to the resistance of the printed antenna coils. The inductance increases with the increasing testing frequency, while the Q value decreases with the increasing testing frequency. The soft magnetic ink prepared with γ-Fe2O3 was used to enhance the inductance of the printed antennas with printing technology. The inductance of the printed antenna with the magnetic core layer is increased by 5.7% at 13.56 MHz.

Abstract: The amounts of municipal solid waste (MSW) are increasing dramatically in metropolis, such as Shanghai in China, due to rapid economic development and urbanization, and it has brought a significant challenge to ecological situation of the city. It is concerned to establish an innovated management system for MSW reducing, recycling, and reusing (3Rs). Thus, information technologies are introduced with the objectives to establish an integrated, and cost-effective solid waste management system. In this system, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology is applied to collection, transportation, and disposal of MSW. Meanwhile, source separation is also combined as a best practice for management of trash and recyclable materials. The paper infers that the establishment of information management system of MSW will offer opportunities to MSW management by reducing secondary pollution and improving efficiency of collection and transportation.

Abstract: To address this issue that the real time monitoring tag of large-scale active RFID tag system, we propose an another missing tag detection algorithm which is based on frame-slotted ALOHA protocol. By reducing the number of bits of the tag reply information, the energy consumption of active tags has been greatly reduced. Compared with that traditional detection algorithm based on tag identification number, experimental results demonstrate that HPL algorithm will reduce an order of magnitude on energy consumption of label, and at the same time, it will reduce the execution time of the algorithm. Meanwhile, compared with the best iteration ID-free protocol detection algorithm currently, HPL algorithm will reduce three orders of magnitude on energy consumption of label, and reduce the execution time of the algorithm.

Abstract: Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology provides a wireless way to detect and recognize objects. By using the RFID reader as a sensor, development of RFID helper object tracking system to track the production situation of a flexible assembly line make tracking application. At the same time, based on the range and without scope of cooperation tracking algorithm, we analysis the system. And in order to achieve the balance of density and cost among the read write device, this paper considers only simple reader and omnidirectional scattering antenna. In order to further improve the production efficiency, we use a particle filter model, in order to further processing tracking result of object, improve tracking precision. We suggest that the tracking system can also predict the operation state of product in assembly production line.

Abstract: This paper proposes a lightweight mutual authentication protocol for RFID. Based on the simple bit operations, it creates the random number N1 on the tag and the identifier RID on reader to protect the transmission of information, and proves the protocol security at the end. The results show that the proposed protocol can meet the security requirements of confidentiality, integrity, and traceability in RFID applications. Furthermore, the protocol can resist attacks of tracking, eavesdropping, retransmitting and the denial of service, which makes up the security defects mentioned on this paper.

Abstract: For the needs of laboratory equipment management, combined with development of RFID, a laboratory equipment management system is designed based on RFID. System design is briefly described. UHF RFID reader design is described in detail. The anti-collision algorithm of ISO 18000-6C protocol is partially improved, so that the reader is able to make real-time adaptations of the anti-collision algorithm using IAP according to the quantity of laboratory equipments, thus raising the efficiency of algorithm recognition. Experimental results prove that the system design has reliability, stability and certain practical value.
