Abstract: The article is devoted to studying the rheological properties of metals and alloys in a cold state based on the results of tensile tests of cylindrical specimens. The aim of this study is to apply the method for optical measuring the neck profile for determining the hardening curve and to evaluate the accuracy of the data obtained using reverse simulation of the test process. For the study, the specimen of aluminum was used, which is characterized by increased plasticity and a continuous stage of deformation concentrated in the neck. The experimental data were processed using the Bridgman, Davidenkov-Spiridonova, and Ostsemin models. The results of the reverse simulation that performed using the hardening curve based on the Ostsemin model have the greatest convergence with the laboratory experiment in terms of tensile force and convergence at the level of other models in terms of neck shape change.

Abstract: When strengthening existing reinforced concrete structures, we can find many successful applications of post-tensioning. The method of substituted cable ducts is a very convenient especially in the case of strengthening existing reinforced concrete bridges whose load capacity can be increased up to 300 %. Strengthening of structures by post-tensioning is based on active influence of internal forces by prestressing force and radial forces that occur in places of bending the unbonded prestressing tendons. Thus, the forces which acts directly on structure in the anchorage areas and in the locations where the prestressing tendons change their trajectory (in saddles) are considered as the effects of prestressing. Saddles are one of the most important structural details of the additional prestressing system. For the purpose of closer examination of the action of monostrand in steel saddles with different radii of curvature, the methodology of experiment was developed and the concrete test panel in which holes for sensors and substituted cable ducts for monostrand are prepared was created. The concrete test panel enables change of the radius of curvature and was designed for analysis of monostrands in saddles with radii of 600, 1000 and 1500 mm. The aim of short-term experiments with monostrands is to determine suitable application of post-tensioning of existing structures with prestressing tendons in HDPE sheaths in saddles with small radii of curvature.

Abstract: Box girders are now prominently used in freeway and bridge systems because of its structural efficiency, better stability, serviceability, economy of construction and pleasing aesthetics. Due to its high torsional rigidity box girders are most suited for curved bridges. In the present investigation, a comparative study of straight and curved box girder bridges with trapezoidal cross section has been carried out. The analysis is carried under the dead load, super imposed dead load, live load of IRC Class A tracked vehicle and prestressed load .This paper focus on the parametric study of box girders with different radius of curvature by keeping the span, cross sectional shape and material properties constant. The parametric investigations performed on curved box girders helps to evaluate the effects of change in radius of curvature on the behaviour of the box girders. This study would help the bridge engineers to better understand the behaviour of straight and curved box girder bridges. The results obtained from this study will be a valuable guidance to the bridge designers.

Abstract: Ultrasonic shot peening (USP) on AALY12 sheet was studied. Several parameters (arc heights, surface roughness, surface topography and micro hardness) with different USP process parameters were measured. The research proposes that radius of curvature of shot peened sheet increases with time and electric current decreasing, while increases with pin diameter increasing, and radius of curvature reaches a saturation level after a specific processing time and electric current. An empirical model of the relationship between radius of curvature and pin diameter, electric current, time was also obtained. The research shows that the increment of surface and vertical micro hardness of material is more obvious with longer time and higher value of electric current, which can be up to 20% and 28% respectively.

Abstract: Pre-stress shot peen forming is a metal forming process widely used in aeronautical industry. The test parts of 7150 Al alloy of different thickness were pre-stress shot peen formed. The deformation rule of those parts was investigated by means of changing the peening coverage. The results show that the radius of curvature of the parts will enhance gradually with increasing of the plate’s thickness. In addition, enhancing peening coverage could raise the deformation in the case of that the thickness and peening parameters are unchanged. Furthermore, the minimum radius of curvature of the 8mm plate after saturation pre-stress shot peen forming could reach 499mm.

Abstract: Geotechnical engineering in tension damage is one of the major failure modes. For a long time, Brazil test has practical significance and wide application value that has been used to determine the tensile strength of rock. When the specimen center destroyed tensile stress play a major role that is the theoretical basis of Brazil test. This is uniaxial tensile stress state, but the reality is complex stress state. Theoretical analysis shows that the Brazilian test does not truly reflect the tensile strength of rock, its test results to error. In this paper, two-parameter parabolic Mohr strength criterion for this error analysis, and propose amendments to the formula.

Abstract: In the condition of the same span, to change the continuous curved bridge's curvature radius and under the dead load and moving load to compare how the internal force changes in different curvature radius. The finite element model is established to simulate the actual structure by Midas Civil. Results in a continuous curved bridge which main span of less than 60m, under the dead load, bending moment (-y) is unlikely to change, reinforced by a straight bridge can meet the requirements; under the moving loads, the curvature radius of the bending moment (-y) has little influence, should focus on increase in torque and bending moment (-z).

Abstract: Taking a bridge of 160m long variable cross-section prestressed continuous curved box-girder as the research object and analyzing the cross-sectional design of axis with axial symmetrical or axial non-symmetrical to research the structure forces change of the upper part of bridge in different curvature. In order to test and verify the variable cross-section of prestressed continuous curved box-girder bridge is safe and reliable via cross-sectional design with axial symmetrical instead of axial non-symtrical within a radius of curvature of the interval. Creating the straight bridge and curved bridge models with different radius of curvature in same span by Midas/Civil to compare their structure forces.

Abstract: We develop a nanoslit to detect a small number of neutral atoms in the ground state. The detection scheme of using two-step photoionization is very sensitive and the use of nanometric near-field lights leads to an ultrahigh spatial resolution. An edge-sharpened nanoslit is fabricated with FIB milling. Considering the case of detecting Rb atoms, the polarization-dependent spatial distribution of near-field light generated at the nanoslit by total-internal reflection of a 476.5-nm Ar-ion laser beam is obtained with a scanning near-field optical microscope. Based on the experimental results, the ionization efficiency is estimated for both s-polarization and p-polarization. We also discuss the discrepancy between the experimental value and the numerical one obtained from the finite difference time domain simulations in the p-polarization case.

Abstract: Based on the iso-scallop height NC machining method, the topic researched on the use of it in the NC grinding. According to the convexity and concavity rotating workpiece, calculating the feeding line while using cylindrical grinding wheel and wheel grinding wheel, and dispersing the generating line of the gyro-rotor. At last, with a special rotating workpiece for example, achieving the most reasonable grinding parameters, tool path strategies and the pulse control strategies according to the radius of curvature, realizing the promotion and command of the grinding precision.
