Abstract: The article outlines the production of fibrous materials, discloses energy production targets for mineral wool items production, scrutinizes specific features of cupola process. Besides, the article presents the experimental research of mineral wool cupola process. Thus, the article describes the design of a cupola furnace, principles of its operation, and its main performance indicators.
A summary of analytical and theoretical research of non-isothermal gas flow motion in shaft furnaces is presented herein. The results of the experimental studies of the patterns of change in gas-dynamic operation of the cupola furnace are also shown in the article.
To assess the development of solid fuel combustion in the furnace, the laws that govern the changes in gas composition at the level of stockline have been studied. The results are shown in the Table.
The analysis of the current state of thermal and gas-dynamic operation of the mineral wool cupola furnace yielded recommendations for optimization and performance enhancement of the operating cupola furnace.

Abstract: Stringer radiator panels made of aluminum and titanium alloys used in the hull structure of the aircraft, which is necessary to maintain the required temperatures. section of the channel profile has a predetermined geometry - a circular or rectangular cross-section of the channel, and the channel itself can be unilateral or bilateral. The technological process of production of radiator panels is to carry out one process machining position, consisting of a series of operations performed by the gas pressure diffusion bonding two sheets and hot-forming gas channels supplied between the sheets. We consider forming a shell of material, following the energy theory of creep and defectiveness. The expressions for the evaluation process and force parameters of damage, in particular - the destruction. The effect sizes of workpiece thickness in the dome, the relative magnitudes of changes in the geometric parameters and the magnitude of damage accumulated from the time of deformation under different laws for the loading of aluminum and titanium alloys. Comparison of theoretical and experimental data on the relative thickness of the dome blanks and reference points, as well as the relative height of the workpiece indicates satisfactory their agreement.

Abstract: Corrosion protection of equipment, apparatus and thermal-stressed metal structures (which refer to equipment of fuel and power industries) operated under conditions of chemical manufacturing processes is the prime industrial target. Corrosive medium causes changes in material structure and properties resulting in decreased strength and premature damage of equipment [1].The subject of research is the system of thermal resistant protective coating for extreme operation conditions. The objective of the study is technology development of protective organic coating with predictable properties within the long-term operation of real gas-compressor units. The research resulted in improved procedure of thermogradient coatings application with positive progress due to the modification of layers of heat-resistant paintwork materials [2].

Abstract: Single-layer and multi-layer cell structures are used for manufacturing of shells of liquid fuel tankers, as well as of "dry" shells of products, wings, fairings, etc. However, conventional methods of production by means of milling do not allow achieving the required specific strength. In this connection, diffusion bonding by means of gas pressure and gas forming at specified temperature and speed conditions are extremely important. Studies conducted by authors help model the processes and calculate the necessary processing parameters: pressure, critical strain rate, deformation rate (deformation time). This paper describes the manufacturing technology for these products, in which the solutions are based on theoretical and experimental studies, which provide: an increase in specific strength; reduction in weight of the product; reduction of labor intensity and increase in material utilization factor.

Abstract: The objective of this research was to survey research data of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon that was 1) published, 2) cited, and 3) published with regard to the collaboration of its researchers with those of other universities in both national and international journals during the years 2008-2013. Such related data was collected from journals that appeared in 1) the database of Thailand Journal Citation Index Centre (TCI), 2) Web of Science database (WoS) and 3) RMUTP Research Journal. Analyses applied included social statistics particularly descriptive statistics which were frequency, percentage and weighted score from six indicators. From the survey, it was found that there were 586 lecturers and researchers in the university 118 out of 586 had research work published. The most important findings are as follows. First, during six years (2008-2013), the university had 141 published research articles. 91 percent were published nationally and 9 percent internationally. The weighted score is 61.33. Second, there was only 12 article that was cited in a national journal, representing 8 percent. But could not find article that was cited in international journals. Finally, there were 40 articles, or 28 percent, that were produced under the collaboration with researchers from other universities.

Abstract: Concrete-polymer composites (CPC) pose a major concern of construction industry in recent years. The use of polymer in concrete has long been proven successful due to its good compatibility and the improvement it makes to the concrete. This overview summarizes status of research and applications of CPC in China within the past 3 years, i.e. the influence of polymer on early hydration of cement, the interaction between polymer and cement, and the applications of CPC in waterproofing materials, pavement, repairing materials and so on.

Abstract: Design of experiment (DOE) is the focal collective of quality technique and is widely used in Research and Development (R&D) organization to optimize product design parameters. There are three main DOE approaches that commonly adopted by R&D companies, which are the classical Fisher’s DOE, Taguchi DOE and Shainin DOE. This paper explores how these three main DOE approaches could be integrated to optimize product design parameters in a Research and Development company. The paper starts with enlightenment of the common DOE steps, follows by discussion of issues faced by the Research and Development company during the implementation of the three DOE approaches in product design. The paper subsequently illustrates how the three DOE approaches could be integrated as a new methodology for optimization of product design parameters. The integrated DOE methodology presented in this paper offers an alternative and effective way to conduct DOE in a dynamic product design and development environment.

Abstract: The aim of this research is to develop an inherent safety assessment technique for research and development stage of chemical process design through the application of logistic function. There are many current inherent safety assessment methods that are index-based. Alternative process synthesis routes to the desired product are ranked based on the total index value, which is calculated by assigning scoring numbers to process safety hazard parameters. Such approach is not sufficed to fully understand the hazards posed by each process routes as the exact cause of the hazards is unknown to the users. The technique proposed in this research will show not only the total scores and the ranks of the evaluated processes but also provide users with more detailed data on the chemical and operational properties that posed the maximum hazards to the process called the root-cause analysis. Root-cause analysis is done through graphical representation constructed from the logistic functions.

Abstract: Based on multiple experimental researches the paper presents graphics and mathematical models obtained by data processing using modern software of wear dependence and cumulate thermal deformations according to the number of controlled number of pieces and dimension of the gauge. Taking into consideration the obtained results, the paper presents conclusions and recommendations over these factors of influence (wear and thermal deformation) over the accuracy quality control of the products, recommendations design and optimal usage of shaft gauges.
