Abstract: During the continuous extrusion and rolling forming process, the microstructure evolution of copper strip was investigated by the optical microscope and transmission electron microscope. The results indicated that the grains in the centre of as-cast rod billet were squashed in the clamping zone and were elongated in the rigid mobile zone. The fibrous structure formed in the upsetting zone. In the adhesion zone, the dynamic recrystallization occurred and the shear band was found. In the right-angle bending zone, the fibrous structure, recrystallized grains and shear bands existed together. The full dynamic recrystallization occurred in the extending extrusion zone. After continuous extrusion forming, the size of the grains of copper strip was larger than that in the extending extrusion zone. After rolling, the grains in copper strip were evidently stretched along the rolling direction, which resulted in the formation of stable direction. With the increase of rolling reduction, the grains were squashed gradually. When the rolling reduction increased from 2 to 6 mm, the tensile strength increased from 250 to 400 MPa, and the elongation decreased from 48% to 13%.

Abstract: In order to improve the quality of plates, an asymmetric rolling process can be introduced, which will help reduce the total roll separating force and increase plate flatness and decrease thickness deviations along the width and length of rolled strip [1÷.

Abstract: Straight TC4 wire rod is demanded by many industries, however the technology of straightening for it has not been solved. In the present paper, a horizontal-vertical roller thermal straightening system is designed and the theory of rolling reduction is concluded. Based on the new system and the rolling reductions calculated for each roller, the method of finite element analysis is used to show the process of straightening at 600°C. The result of straightening is ideal, which proves the straightening system is adequate for Φ4.5 TC4 wire rod.

Abstract: This work reports the results of theoretical analysis of asymmetric rolling process of plates in the finishing mill of plate rolling. Its aim was to determine the influence of asymmetry velocity of working rolls on the value and direction of bending radius of strip flowing from the deformation zone. Variables of the considered process were: rotational speed asymmetry factor av, strip shape factor h0/D and reduction of cross-sectional area ε.

Abstract: The goal of this research project is the development of a simulation model for lifetime estimation of components manufactured from the AA6016-T4/FeP06 material compound. Components composed of this material are manufactured predominantly by rolling and deepdrawing. For this reason, the influence of the plastic deformations during the manufacturing process on the fatigue behaviour must be investigated. Particularly the cyclic hardening behaviour of FeP06 steel has a relevant effect on the fatigue life of this aluminium-steel compound. Simulation models for fatigue life estimation therefore have to consider the influence of this hardening effect, which occurs during the manufacturing process. In this work, test results and a simulation model to take into account the influence of the rolling reduction on the fatigue behaviour of components manufactured from the AA6016/FeP06 material compound are presented.
