Abstract: The paper presents an analysis at a molding process for a twin button mouse. There are analyzed few variants for a single nest and for a four nests mold, using different gate positions. There are emphasized the quality parameters for the molding processes, and finally a cost estimation is done, which allow to select the most convenient solution.

Abstract: The paper presents an analysis of a molding process and the structure of the mold for a joystick handler. At the simulation of the molding process are analyzed multiple variants changing the number and position of the gates, the runner system, and the number of the pockets. Several combinations of technological parameters are taking into account in establishing the set of variables, which gives the best quality for the part. With the aid of Autodesk Inventor and Moldflow software, a complete set of quality parameters are predicted.

Abstract: The overall injection mold structure scheme was determined based on the processing analysis of a large LCD TV panel. Specific heating/cooling system and temperature control system aiming for better surface finish were designed. The runner system, which starts from a pin valve hot runner system and turn to cold runner and then to banana-like gates, was obtained. Lifters used for smooth ejection and pulling side cores were presented. The venting system and the material for the cavity plate were introduced. The assembly drawing was shown and the working process of the mold was described at last.

Abstract: Aiming at the runner design feature of injection mold of combinational cavities laid in non-natural balance, the design method of multi-objective runner optimization is put forward based on Kriging model. At fist, the basic theory of Kriging approximate model is proposed, and aiming at the feature of combinational cavities, the multi-objective optimum model of runner system is proposed also. In the solving multi-objective optimum model, the multi-objective ant colonies algorithm with crossover and mutation based on Pareto optimization is proposed. The given method is testified by a runner design instance of top and down cover of mouse, and it has a good application in engineering. The optimum result shows that the multi-objective ant colonies algorithm with crossover and mutation has good algorithmic performance.

Abstract: The quality of the green and the shaping efficiency are affected by the mold structure during the course of powder injection molding (PIM). Based on the numerical simulation, the mathematic model for the optimal design of the gating and runner system in PIM mould is constructed. The method is testified by the Moldflow software and the experiment. From the result, it is suggested that the clamp force and the shape cycle are clearly decreased, the green is densified and the samples’ density error of the green is decreased after the optimal design of the mold structure. Furthermore, the number of trial mold is reduced and the shape efficiency is improved.
