Abstract: With an increasing number of the offshore oil and gas fixed platforms, the traffic environment is becoming more complicated, which will have a negative impact on the safety of both platforms and ships around. Considering the operation method and safety of the offshore oil and gas fixed platform, and the ship’s motion when being not under command, the safe distance between the platform and the ships’ customary routes is determined according to the big and frequent ship type sailing in the routes. The safe distance calculation result provides a basis for both the site selection and the distance keeping for ships passing by the platform and the water around.

Abstract: The numerical simulation method of safe distance between concealed karst cave and tunnel based on shear strength reduction method safety factor catastrophe is proposed. The safety factor of different distance between concealed karst cave and tunnel can be obtained using strength reduction finite element method numerical calculation with the finite element solution non convergence as the standard rock damage, then compare the safety factor of different distance, the catastrophe of safety factor corresponding to the distance is the safe distance between concealed karst cave and tunnel, and the plastic zone of rock stratum between concealed karst cave and tunnel is reaching run-through state, which is verified by engineering example.

Abstract: In order to study the characteristics and the safe distance of LPG pool fires, a modeling of the pressure leaked from storage tanks, and the fire characteristic parameter calculation model, and thermal radiation intensity prediction model for LPG pool fire, and for liquid flow leak pool fire case, using MATLAB software programming, obtained characteristics parameters of LPG pool fire and damage assessment, analyzed the effects of a cross wind on the flame size and shape and the thermal radiation, put forward a calculation method of the LPG pool fire safe distance, provide guidance for the fire tactics equation of safety equipment and storage tank area configuration.

Abstract: A method of predicting safe distance between tunnel and karst cave based on support vector machine was proposed, 10 parameters (rock density,elasticity modulus E, poisson ratio, friction angle, cohesion C, lateral pressure coefficient , the karst cave span L,rate between height and span of the Karst cave R, tunnel deep H,cave position) were chosen for safe distance influence factors, then an intelligent predicting model of safe distance between tunnel and karst cave was built, this predicting model can predict 7 kinds position of safe distance between tunnel and concealed karst cave and was feasible and high prediction precision, which was verified by engineering example.

Abstract: The article aims at researching on anti-explosion security technique for gas-injection well of air oil drive through the gas associated with crude oil alerting system, and then, making sure safety distance of associated gas explosion. Firstly, experiment the explosion limit of associated gas, then to determine the different alerting threshold and the arrangement of inspection instrument, which are on the basic of different limit requirements of density about gas-injection well head and internal gas-injection well. Secondly, with associated gas explosion in the well, calculate the overpressure of well head through simulation method. Finally, analogy between explosion energy and TNT equivalent, so that determine the level of people casualties and structure breakage for safe distance according to failure criteria of explosive blast.

Abstract: Based on the catastrophe theory, a research method of safe distance between concealed karst cave and tunnel is put forward. The stability of rock stratum between concealed karst cave and tunnel is evaluated by the catastrophe theory, the catastrophe mode of rock strata system destabilization is established through the research of rock stratum total potential energy between karst cave and tunnel, then the safe distance calculation formula between concealed karst cave and tunnel are deduced, which is veried by an engineering example.

Abstract: Stability of rock stratum between concealed karst cave and tunnel is evaluated by the catastrophe theory. The numerical simulation method of safe distance between concealed karst cave and tunnel is proposed based on catastrophe theory energy catastrophe. Through array of rock stratum energy change and distance change between concealed karst cave and tunnel, a cusp catastrophe model of safe distance between concealed karst cave and tunnel is built. The simulation of safe distance between concealed karst cave and tunnel can be finished by Ansys program and Matlab, and automatically calculates the safe distance by a compile interface program, which is verified by engineering example.

Abstract: Rear-end collision is one kind of traffic accident with extreme danger. Peoples security and property are serious threatened by this kind of accidents. Based on morphological research of real-world collisions, this paper makes quantitative analysis of minimum safe distance under complex traffic situations. A novel mathematics model and corresponding collision avoidance algorithms are proposed. To verify feasibility of this algorithm, this paper performs accident emulation and data analysis with Visual Basic 6.0. Experimental results show that this approach is capable of reducing occurrence possibility of rear-end collisions.

Abstract: The majority of traffic accidents on the highway is rear-end collision. According to statistics about ninety percent rear-end collision can be avoided if there is 1 second pretreatment time for drivers. So it is necessary to develop automotive rear-end collision warning system to prevent the occurrence of accidents. The anti-rear-end collision warning system based on Zigbee technology is designded in this paper. Vehicle speed, acceleration and other traffic information among the nodes can be exchanged on real-time by using self-organizing wireless sensor networks consisted by Zigbee network nodes. A vehicle safe distance model is established after considered the effects of other traffic safety factors, and then, the actual distance measured by radar is compared with the safe distance so as to provide early warning, alarm and other driving information to drivers. The experiment results show that the system can effectively provide early warning, avoid rear-end collision, and improve active safety of vehicles.
