Abstract: An improved node importance evaluation method is proposed. The importance of nodes are not only determined by its location in the network, but also limited by the contribution of its neighboring nodes. The location of the node is determined by its betweenness. The contribution of the node is impacted by the betweenness and closeness centrality of its neighboring nodes. Experiments show that this proposed method is suitable for satellite communication network applications, and obtains accurate evaluation results.

Abstract: The traditional hierarchical network architecture has the defect of redundancy and no interaction between the layers. These defects have bad impact on QoS and network security. Hierarchical network protocols is difficult to be used to satellite network. Component-based network architecture is proposed for eliminating of hierarchical network design flaws. Network protocols will be divided according to the function for forming of low coupling functional components. It provides high quality services to the application using combined components.

Abstract: Existed simulation works are always too dependent on a kind of particular techniques or tools to perform horizontal comparison and integration. There is no formal description for the simulation objects which leads to the lack of semantic support in the simulation. In order to guarantee the reusability and interoperability of heterogeneous models and services in satellite network simulation and provide verification support, a method based on ontology engineering is proposed. Based on the concept of simulation verification with semantic support, the purpose and requirements of applying ontology engineering in satellite network simulation are identified. A test is performed as to a specific simulation task, and the results show that, besides the semantic support, the former method can provide significant improvement in efficiency, which is over 200% in comparison with the latter one. It is concluded that it is quite feasible to apply ontology in the area of satellite network simulation.

Abstract: Aircraft communication and satellite link handoff issues in spatial information network are very important and are focused in this paper. The simulation modules of satellite network nodes and links in network simulator version 2(NS-2) are analyzed in details in this paper. A method of extending NS-2 kernel module is proposed based on analysis of satellite network simulation principle and approach. As an example, the aircraft communication simulation module is designed and implemented. Simulation results show that flight of aircraft has effect on the link handoff characteristic, and show that the proposed extension method is feasible.

Abstract: Aviation ad hoc network has dynamic topology and uneven distribution of nodes, so it is difficult to establish node-disjoint multipath routes. Aviation ad hoc network multipath routing of path segmentation based build multipath routes between source node and the destination node in path segmentation. Each segmentation has one to three concurrent paths established by the topology of network, through which it leads to loading equilibrium. To ensure the accuracy of the data transmission of links with hop-by-hop verifying transmission mechanism and to reduce the cost of frequently routing update and end-to-end delay with routing fragment strategy. Finally, the routing protocol is simulated with the simulation software NS2 and the result shows that it has a good performance.

Abstract: A simulation test methodology has been developed to evaluate Satellite-Network Routing Algorithms. The test technique simulates problems routing algorithms encounter in satellite network by selecting the routing strategies which take minimal hop, minimal delay, and minimal transmitting power as principles and addressing them from building a satellite network simulation scenario in which the simulation test approach is applied and recording their performances in the form of statistical summaries.

Abstract: The article introduces a certificateless signcryption scheme targeting the problem of lacking of security mechanism in the routing of satellite networks, and designs a secure routing protocol suitable for the satellite networks. The proposed protocol avoids complicated management in the certificate mechanism and bypasses the key escrow problem in the identity-based cryptography using the certificateless cryptography and signcryption. The analysis shows that the new protocol can resist several common attacks, effectively improve the security of the satellite networks routing.

Abstract: Short-message communication mechanism is one of the most frequently methods used on the field of satellite data transmission. Under the existing satellite network, we provide an expansion method of reliable data transmission of short message communication named EMRDT-SMC, which solves negative compression problem of transmission capacity expansion when the amount of short message is below normal, and also solves reliable data transmission problem while satellite microwave transmission causes short message loss. Based on the measurement over a small test-bed, it shows that the method EMRDT-SMC can obtain the better network performance.

Abstract: With the development of the Satellite-Networks, information globalization becomes the tendency of human development. But the Satellite-Networks have some characteristics, such as the diversity of coupling form, the asymmetry of terminal distributing and Satellite-Networks’ opening and so on. Leading the Satellite-Networks faced with faults emerged one after another, so orientating the fault node in time is very important to guarantee the integrality and usability of Satellite-Networks system. According to the layer-driven principles, a new type of trouble hunting system is presented. In it, event detection sequences are viewed as positive selection event database, and a trouble hunting matrix will be built up and analyzed. The experiment shows good trouble location ability.
