Abstract: The storage tank plays a more and more important role in economic construction and the development. It always stores inflammable, explosive medium. The consequences are very serious, when the earthquake disaster occurs. In this paper, we build models of model tank and 20,000 m3 tanks with the finite element method, and analyze their seismic response between the former structure and the isolatied structure. We wish that the research can provide fundamental data for the similar studies.

Abstract: The aqueduct bridge carries a large amount of water (fluid). How to model fluid is a basic issue in the seismic analysis and design of aqueduct bridges. This paper discusses and summarizes computational methods of fluid for the three-dimensional seismic response analyses. The result of this paper provides a reference for the researchers and engineers, who are interested in seismic-resistance computations of aqueduct bridges.

Abstract: This paper reports several issues on structural dynamics of aqueduct bridges. These issues include the modeling of sloshing water, dynamic characteristics of aqueduct bridges with fluid-structure interaction, seismic responses of aqueduct bridges, wind-induced buffeting responses of aqueduct bridges, equivalent wind load on aqueduct bridges. The results mentioned in this paper can be referred for the investigation and design of the wind and seismic resistance of the aqueduct bridges.

Abstract: Based on Yunnan minority traditional structure, some structural design characteristics are summarized. The three-dimensional finite element model (FEM) of Yi minority dwelling is built.By studying the dynamic characteristics and earthquake responses of Yi minority dwelling, natural frequencies and periods, acceleration dynamic response curve and displacement dynamic response curve are obtained. The equations are applied to calculate the moment resisting capacity of Yi minority dwelling.Depending on the results, the flexible seismic advantages of timber structure for minority structure are verified under the design defense intensity.

Abstract: To solve the problem of sediments on seismic response of concrete dams, pressure wave formula of saturated porous fluid-solid two-phase medium was derived from the Biots consolidation theory, and was determined the seismic response magnitude of sediment on concrete dam. Sediment was regarded as elastic-plasticity. And the method was applied to analyze the influence of sediments density, cohesion and friction angle on dam seismic response. Finally, a typical example is analyzed. The result shows sediments plasticity is relatively obvious on dam seismic response.

Abstract: Framed-Ground Floor Structure for short which has serious seismic damage and high collapsed rate, is the unreasonable structure system. The experiences is 1. The shear wall can be increased to improve stiffness of weak layer. And designer should try to arrange the walls equably. 2. In order to avoid stiffness mutation, stiffness ratio between ground frame and transition layer can be adjusted. 3. Collapse resistant design of Framed-Ground Floor Structures should be emphasized. Then seismic response analysis is conducted by ANSYS. And the seismic response is little, and strength damage or stable damage do not occur for the little acceleration peak. Along with the increasing acceleration peak, The bigger horizontal displacement leads to damage of Framed-Ground Floor Structures. Moreover, the damage is in advance as the increasing acceleration peak.

Abstract: The increase in the structural damping ratio can make the degree of seismic response lower, while the damping ratio causes the seismic response differently in the different national specification. The paper first introduces the principle of equivalent damping ratio of the seismic response calculation methods in seismic specification of China and Japan, then analyzes and compares reduction of seismic response caused by the equivalent damping ratio in seismic specification of China and Japan by calculating data.

Abstract: In order to determine the calculational model of long span transmission tower structure under the multiple support excitation, tower-lines system are adopted. Seismic Performance of long span transmission tower lines system under Multiple Support Excitation were studied by time history analysis method. The seismic response difference of two kinds of excitation is analyzed from Dynamic Characteristics and the number of dangerous bar. It will offer the theory data for the seismic design of the kind of structure. Through analysis, the seismic response difference of the two kinds excitation is correlative to the apparent velocity; Therefore long span transmission tower structure should be considered the effect of multiple support excitation, otherwise the conclusion will be inclined to conservative or risk. Key words: tower lines system; seismic response; time history analysis, multiple support excitation

Abstract: According to the seismic performance of cable-stayed bridge with a project example, using finite element analysis method, establishing the space beam element and link element calculation model, the dynamic characteristic and the seismic response of the cable-stayed bridge with selected three earthquake waves were calculated, the results were compared with the of the response spectrum method. The results show that:the semi-floating system of cable-stayed bridge is great flexibility, the vibration cycle is generally longer; the results by using the response spectrum method are smaller; the cable-stayed bridge should be calculated in accordance with the specific circumstances of the project with multiple seismic waves.

Abstract: With the further study on the exploration and development of oil fields, some oil fields have gone into the later period for developing gradually. The problems of oil pipeline are more and more prominent. Earthquakes have occurred frequently in recent years. So it is particularly important to study on the seismic performance of corrosive pipeline. Due to the length of pipeline, the geological condition is more complicated, the same pipeline across the site category may have a big distinction. The software of ANSYS was used in this paper to study pipelines with corrosion defects in different site types. The seismic response were calculated, thus various types of site conditions of the velocity, displacement and acceleration time-history response were obtained, and the results were compared and analyzed.
