Abstract: The background and design idea of the intelligent materials is introduced. Three elements of intelligent materials are given. Then based on classifying of intelligent materials, the features and applications of intelligent materials are researched.Principle and the latest applications of typical intelligent materials such as optical fiber, shape memory alloys, shape memory polymers, piezoelectric, magnetostrictive materials, fluid material and polymer colloid are analyzed simplely. The research difficulties and the future research focuses of intelligent material are pointed out.

Abstract: Synthetically applied the technology of Full Current Selective Protection and Zone-Selective interlocking mainly, this paper comes up with a new Intelligent Molded Case Circuit Breaker system. Use the accurate calculation method, to achieve a good function of three kinds of current protection. By means of coordinate communication, the system implements selective trip and protection function, and improve the reliability and safety of the distribution system. Self-diagnostic function works when the system goes wrong, which extend the service life of this circuit breaker system.

Abstract: Safe operation of transport system depends on right examination of their technical conditions and right operating measures thereof. The conventional methods based on magnetic test for steel-cord conveyor belt inspection have many limitations. So a new detection method which is based on both magnetic method and X-ray digital imaging technology is used. This paper introduces the key techniques and control scheme of the detection system. Five main steps, including self-diagnosis, hardware test, magnetic inspection, radiographic inspection and diagnosis, are discussed in detail. The system provides a preventive maintenance program which can achieve high precision for it uses image analysis techniques to process digital radiography images to identify gravity of defects.
