Abstract: This paper proposes a multiple target air parameters monitoring scheme with the help of the wireless intelligence sensor array which is built up with multiple sensors. In the paper, the design of the wireless intelligence array sensor is considered, the method to configure the wireless intelligence sensor network is introduced, and the information combination arithmetic of sensor network is provided. Then, a kind of minitype wireless multiple target air parameters monitoring system is built up. Experiment result clearly indicates that the system can accomplish the mission of monitoring multiple targets at the same time and the efficiency and reliability, make the air parameter monitoring arrives at a higher level. So the system proposed should be widely used in the domain of air parameter and toxic and harmful gas leakage monitoring.

Abstract: The research presents a novel automatic anemometer based on the technology of automatic multi-dimensional thermoelectric sensor array. The multi-dimensional thermoelectric sensor array was designed to form a double-ring structure using commercial thermocouples to detect real-time airflow temperature distribution, velocity and direction. The sensing arrays and a controllable heater and a human-machine interface that is calibrated by a hot-wire anemometer. The anemometer has advantages of low cost, real-time detection with fast response. Related air flow information has measured accurately and repeatability.

Abstract: The corrosion acoustic emission (AE) source location is one of the main purposes of acoustic emission testing (AET), corrosion detection and location can guarantee the safety and integrity of pipeline, storage tank and other equipment in the petrochemical industry. The computed source location and zonal location methods are reviewed in this paper, and also new source location method based on modal acoustic emission (MAE) is introduced and this new method will be more widely used in the field of corrosion detection in future.

Abstract: A novel cataluminescence(CTL)-based sensor array consisting of 9 types of catalytic nanomaterials was developed for the determination and identification of harmful gas. The sensing nanomaterials, including nano-sized metal oxides, carbonates and decorated nanoparticles, have been selected carefully. A 3 x 3 array was integrated by depositing these nanosized catalysts onto the ceramic chip. Dynamic and static analysis methods were utilized to characterize the performance of the sensor array to 4 kinds of harmful gas. Each compound gives its unique CTL pattern after interact with the sensor array, which can be employed to recognize ether, acetone, chloroform, and toluene. PCA was conducted to classify the harmful gas and the plots showed that the groups were well classified. In addition, the patterns obtained at different working temperature and the analytical characteristics of array were investigated. The CTL-based sensor array shows promising perspective for the recognition and discrimination of harmful gas.

Abstract: This paper introduced an optimum design method of sensor array suitable for electrical capacitance tomography (ECT) based on high AC excitation voltage. The sensor parameters of electrode span and length were optimized in turn, and a sensor model for testing was fabricated according to optimal objects. The image reconstruction experimental resultants of grain distribution indicated that high quality images could be reconstructed by the sensor model. This proved the optimal design method of ECT sensor given in this paper was feasible and the parameters were also credible.

Abstract: In order to detect the surface defects of metal work piece, a sensor array is designed based on the principle of eddy current detection. According to the difference of frequency in LC oscillatory circuit, the information of the metal work piece can be obtained. In order to acquire a stable result, an algorithm is proposed to eliminate the transient disturbance and to reduce the influence of temperature drift. With the embedded system of arm7 kernel, the result of data can be displayed in graphical format. The experiment shows that the sensor array has soundness and operability.

Abstract: A new design method of gas detection system was given based on the new DSP processor TMS320F28335. The experiment system takes six metal-oxide semiconducter gas sensors as well as temperature and humidity sensors in comprising the sensor array module, followed the excellent detection principle how to choose, and choose CH4 and H2 as the test samples and use dual-BP neural-network with the temperature and humidity compensation function as the method to recognize and measure single gas and mixed gases respectively. The result shows that the measuring instrument has higher measuring accuracy and overcomes the shortcoming of other methods, and has important practical application value.

Abstract: In this work, the capacity of an electronic nose (E-nose, PEN2) to classify tea quality grades is investigated. Three tea groups with different quality grades were harvested at different times. Principal component analysis (PCA) and artificial neural network (ANN) were applied to identify the different tea samples. PCA provided perfect classification of tea quality grades. In the analysis of age, six groups of XinyangMaojian green tea were distinguished completely by PCA. The results of ANN analysis gave a high percentage of correct discrimination of green tea samples. The correct identification rates of the training and testing data were 98.6% and 83%, respectively, for three grades of green tea samples harvested in 2009. The correct identification rates of the training and testing data were 100% and 87.8%, respectively, for three grades of green tea samples harvested in 2010. In the analysis of age, the correct discrimination percentages for six groups of XinyangMaojian green tea were 99.4% and 88.9% for training and testing data, respectively. These results indicate that the electronic nose could be successfully used for the detection of teas of different quality grades and ages.
