Abstract: This paper presents a benchmarking study that measures operational efficiency of water service providers. The problem of measuring the operational efficiency of water suppliers is addressed by adopting a non parametric approach based on Data Envelopment Analysis. The benchmarking model uses both physical infrastructure network and financial variables. The model is implemented calculating efficiencies of 53 Italian service providers. Results show that there are important operational inefficiencies, mostly due to scale diseconomies.

Abstract: Identity management systems in Internet belong to different circles of trust and it is difficult to set up trust relationship among Identity Providers (IdPs) or Service Providers (SPs) which are located in different circles of trust. This paper proposes a distributed trust federation framework to solve the problem and its efficiency is analyzed with several experiments. It uses IdPs which belong to multiple Circles of Trust (CoTs) as relay entities to set up trust relationship among CoTs. The proposed framework is effective to extend the trust federation of identity management systems and thus improve easy of use for users in Internet..

Abstract: At present, there is much difficulty in choosing appropriate logistic outsourcing service for enterprises, which may even result in logistic failures. One major reason for that is the lack of strong theoretical guidance in logistic outsourcing and in the choosing of a service provider that is adapted to the enterprises development. To solve this problem, this paper constructs the indexes system of service provider choice and evaluation based on the following four aspects: logistic cost, logistic operational efficiency, service provider’s individual quality and capability. The analytic hierarchy process is used in the selection of service provider. And company Z is taken as an example in the calculation. By doing so, this paper constructs a comparatively integrated framework for the selection of logistic outsourcing service provider, perfects the evaluation system of it and provides enterprises with a set of scientific evaluation methods in choosing service provider.

Abstract: Cloud computing seems to offer some incredible benefits for communicators: the availability of an incredible array of software applications, access to lightning-quick processing power, unlimited storage, and the ability to easily share and process information. All of this is available through your browser any time you can access the Internet. While this might all appear enticing, there remain issues of reliability, portability, privacy, and security. When our private data are out-sourced in cloud computing, we should guarantee the confidentiality and searchability of the private data. Our paper provides a new approach to avoid the disclosure of the sensitive attributes of users when user ask for service from the Service Provider (SP) in cloud computing.
