Abstract: This paper introduces the common methods of delay analysis in signalized intersection. Focuses on point sample method (PSM), and puts forward the improved point sample method (IPSM) that is easier to actual operation and accurate. Because the control delay takes the place of the stop delay and the statistics of period takes the place of the statistics of moment. Apply the IPSM and the HCM delay model to analysis delay of signalized intersection in Hohhot. It is a linear relationship between the two results. And the applicability of the IPSM is verified. The IPSM is more applicable and accurate to the mixed-traffic flow in China.

Abstract: To analyze the pedestrian speed of at signalized intersections with exclusive pedestrian phases, data of pedestrian speed at 3 typical signalized intersections in Weihai were collected by video survey and artificial measurement and statistical analysis were conducted by SPSS. Influence factors including gender, different time and stage when pedestrian crossing the street. The 15th percentile speed of pedestrians crossing intersection was put forward which may provide theoretical base for the conformation of pedestrian green light of signalized intersections with exclusive pedestrian phases.

Abstract: This paper take the signalized intersection of Erdos Street-South of Xilinguole Road in Hohhot as an example, by collecting traffic data of intersections, use the improved gray clustering evaluation model to evaluate atmospheric environmental impact from signalized intersection traffic flow. The evaluation results are in line with the actual situation and measures are proposed for improving intersection atmospheric environment.

Abstract: Traffic Impact Assessment focuses on analysis and evaluation of the traffic flow generated by the proposed project impact on the road network in the future, through comparing the sections,intersection and other transportation infrastructure indexes such as traffic flow and road vehicle capacity, evaluate whether the traffic system can meet the increased traffic demand. In this paper, make the delay time and the road saturation as the evaluation index, studies the influence scope of the key signal intersection service level, in order to assess the impact of new projects on the signalized intersection. Cited Haikou province Hongzhou center as an example, based on the investigation of the traffic flow, calculate the time delay and road saturation to analyze the service level.

Abstract: Available traffic delays prediction models for signalized intersection tend to predict the traffic delays under certain conditions and they are weak in adapt to different situation. In the paper, based on the theories of BP neural network, a network model, having a strong ability to adapt to different conditions, for traffic delay in average hours at a signalized intersection is established. It is trained and tested utilizing the data of traffic delay in average hours at a certain entrance of a signalized intersection. The predicted results and the actual data are compared with each other and the results prove the reliability and effectiveness of BP neural network in predicting traffic delays.

This paper presents a signalized intersection delay model for signalized intersection. The model uses time series and queuing theory. It discusses the operation characteristics of the process of arrival and leaving and optimizes the intersection signal timing and gets the best signal cycle time. A scientific model and a more complete analysis are founded in the paper. These methods have a good reference value to the relevant departments.

Abstract: As an important node of the urban transport network, road signalized intersection collects more than one direction of traffic flows. Thus, it not only becomes the throat of the transportation network, but also accident-prone area. Through field survey, this paper analyses a typical signalized intersection with safety problems and proposes an improvement design plan. Afterwards, with the use of the crash reduction factor (CRF), it forecasts the effects of safety improvement measures.

Abstract: A model based on carbon emissions is established to guide vehicle behavior at signalized intersections. This model takes working conditions and emission characteristics of vehicles into account, uses VT-Micro model exploited by Oak Ridge National Laboratory to calculate emissions, and provides vehicles with the lowest-emission working plan to drive through intersections. This model is able to reducing carbon emissions at the source and it agrees with the development of low-carbon transportation.

Abstract: In order to evaluate traffic operation status of signalized intersection and improve pedestrian traffic safety under the condition of ice-snow, it was studied that the influence of ice-snow on capacity of signalized intersection and the minimum green time. Saturated headway data of nine signalized intersections were observed by video method. And the influence of ice-snow melting pavement, compacted partly snowy pavement, compacted snowy pavement and normal pavement on saturated flow rate of signalized intersection were analyzed respectively. Correction coefficients of capacity of signalized intersection on different ice-snow pavement were given. Pedestrian’s crossing speed at nine signalized intersection on snowy pavement, icy pavement and normal pavement were observed and compared. And then the suggestion values of minimum green time calculation parameter were put forward.
