Abstract: This paper proposes an optimal method for NCC-based template matching on modern CPUs for time-critical applications. In order to achieve the superior computation efficiency, the brand-and-bound (BB) scheme and the streaming SIMD extensions 2 (SSE2) instructions are employed to quickly find out the target object with rotation, translation and scaling in monochrome or color image. And we show how to reject unpromising image location very quickly using BB scheme in search process. Furthermore, an efficient implementation for similarity coefficient calculation is also pointed out by using the integration SSE2 instructions. Finally, the results show that the proposed method is very powerful when dealing with the NCC-based template matching in monochrome and color images.

Abstract: Because of 3D model in continuous quality can be expressed by a lot of voxels with same size and small enough dimensions, a detection method of inertial parameters based on principal direction of voxel model is proposed. The method first searches three-spindle for voxel model by employing famous principal component analysis (PCA) method and establishes a new coordinates system by three-spindle above. Next, inertial parameters curve of the model can be obtained by calculating principal moment of inertia before translating the origin of the new coordinate system to the minimum point of the model and center of mass after that. The curve gives a geometric descriptor of the mode. Storing and matching the descriptor, the method calculates similarity between query model and database model, and then displays consequence according to the similarity from good to bad. Experiences show that the inertial parameters can be used as a kind of feature descriptor on the equal volume model and can be calculated easily.

Abstract: Because of the inherent conflict between visual area and resolution in rock microscope structure, during the study of the RCTS (Rock Core Thin Section) microstructure, we cannot focus on the multi-scale structure characteristics of the particles, pores and throats, and it is fail to satisfy the demands of a more comprehensive study. In order to solve this problem, a microscopic image stitching method in RCTS is proposed by applying SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transform) detection algorithm. This method can successfully solve the conflict between the visual area and resolution, overcoming the problem of inclining and deformation in images acquisition under the microscope and finally, achieving the seamless stitching of RCTS microscopic image for big visual area. The experimental results show that this method can improve the accuracy of rock analysis in microstructure and has important practical and theoretical significance for the development of tight sandstone reservoir.

Abstract: A new method for measure similarity between vague sets is proposed in this paper. Multi-criteria evaluation problems are used in decision-making constantly. Vague sets model is used to describe multi-criteria evaluation problems in this paper. And the similarity measure method based on products is used in sorting alternatives. The proposed method can solve the multi-criteria evaluation problems in a reasonable and objective way.

Abstract: In general, it is difficult to segment accurately image regions or boundary contours and represent them by feature vectors for shape-based image query. Therefore, the object similarity is often computed by their boundaries. Hausdorff distance is nonlinear for computing distance, it can be used to measure the similarity between two patterns of points of edge images. Classical Hausdorff measure need to express image as a feature matrix firstly, then calculate feature values or feature vectors, so it is time-consuming. Otherwise, it is difficult for part pattern matching when shadow and noise existed. In this paper, an algorithm that use Hausdorff distance on the image boundaries to measure similarity is proposed. Experimental result has showed that the proposed algorithm is robust.

Abstract: According to the experimental analysis, this work found out the defect of the formula for similarity measure between current Vague values, and redefined the similarity measure between Vague values. Therefore, a new formula subject to the new definition was put forward according to data mining and uncertainty of Vague value.

Abstract: Somecolor quantization problems concerning quantization of a color image into a fewnumbers of colors are discussed. In the HSV color space that is the best visualidentity of people, H is uniform quantified, S and V is respectivelynon-uniform quantified.Aimed at the limitation of Euclidean distance failing to consider thesimilarity between colors in the process of retrieval, a color similaritymatrix is introduced. Experimental result shows this algorithm is of certainpracticability and the quantization effect is also comparatively ideal whenmaking similarity matching

Abstract: Building a model to predict the state of slag on coal-fired boilers is a good way to optimize the coal combustion and reduce the risk of boiler slag. This paper built new models based on vague sets to predict the state of slag on coal-fired boilers, in which there were six input vectors, which were softening temperature, SiO2-Al2O3 ratio, alkali-acid ratio, percentage of silicon content, the dimensionless average temperature furnace and the dimensionless inscribed circle diameter furnace, and one output vectors, which was slagging degree. Two methods, which were based on the sense of distance and symmetric fuzzy cross entropy, were proposed to calculate the similarity between vague sets. 10 coal burning boilers were selected as known samples and the feasibility of the new methods was proved by the result of predicting the state of slag on the four coal burning boilers from Jilin heat and power plant, Xinli power plant, Jinzhou power plant and Qinhuangdao power plant. Through predicting and determining, it proves that the two pattern recognition models are high in prediction accuracy. Compared with the normal method, it is easier for operators to predict, determine the slagging state and reduce disturbance as far as possible. Besides, a prediction system has been developed by object-oriented high-level language accordingly.
